The Western Cape region

Hout Bay is an active fishing harbour. Boat trips around the bay and to Seal Island leave from the harbour. Mariner's Wharf restaurant is a noted stop on the Cape Town tourist bus run, and well worth a visit.

Chapman's Peak Drive is spectacular and leads down to Simon's Town (visit the penguins) and the Cape of Good Hope.

Drive for 20 min to Cape Town along the coast road via Camp's Bay to enjoy the stunning views.

Over the hill from Hout Bay go left to visit the wonderful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on the back of Table Mountain or right to enjoy the many Constantia wine estates and restaurants.

Every spring the Cape Argus bike race and the Twin Ocean Marathon pass through Hout Bay,

Visitors to the area are unlikely to run out of things to see and enjoy.
