The Western Cape region
In a unique secure golf course community on the ocean, no other golf course estate is on the ocean in the Cape Town region! Enjoy a safe holiday with gated access. This is the ideal location for golfing groups or families. Kid friendly estate with playgrounds and bike paths.
The house is situated in Melkbosstrand on Atlantic Beach golf course community. It is a small seaside town 30 minutes from the airport and city centre.
The landscape is links style with fabulous views of Table and Table Mountain and the famous Robben Island.
The weather in South Africa is good all year round, being a little cooler in the winter months ranging from lows of 10C to highs of 25C. Summer lows and highs range bewteen 15 and 30C. Winter rainfall and dry summers. Winters are great for visiting South Africa to take advantage of better viewing conditions on safari and low malaria season if going up north for safaris. Cape Town is completely malaria free.
Cape Town / Melkbosstrand area
Melkbossstrand (Milkwood tree beach) has lovely restaurants and shops ans is conveniently located within 30 minutes to 1 hour of all major Cape Town attractions like the wine route, V&A waterfront and Cape Point.
Windsurfing, surfing and kite surfing are a popular sport on the west coast of Cape Town close by at Table View Beach or Melkbosstrand Beach. For the adventurous great white cage diving is available.
A few minutes from the local beach and you don't have to go far if you are in the mood for relaxing. Good quality grocery stores are located between 5 and 10 minutes.
How to get there
It take 11.5 hours to fly from the UK. The house is located 30 minutes from the airport,. Major European airlines all fly to South Africa. Some fly via Johannesburg others direct into Cape Town. In the South African summer there are more direct flights to Cape Town.
All major car rental companies are available at the airport, try www.avis.co.za or www.hertz.co.za or www.national.co.za.
Driving is also on the left hand side in South Africa. If you are a seasoned traveler and have been to South Africa before than self driving is an option otherwise a driver is a must.
Due to the exchange rate your holiday will be surprisingly economical R16 ti the pound! Ask about a private driver/tour guide and you will be surprised at the daily rates.
