Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
The pineapple is symbol of hospitality and warm welcome brought about through history in America. Its an image of good cheer, warmth and affection between all who dwell inside the home.
"My husbands uncle, whom owned Pineapple Cottage before us, named it this and we have carried that through to make it a welcoming place for our guests." says Carol, the Owner.
Pineapple Cottage with its private entrance and two private courtyards, boasts a light, fresh open plan living space. The front veranda allows one to observe the characteristic elements of Kalk Bay whilst retiring to the side courtyard for some lovely afternoon sun and a lazy read on one of the deck chairs or to the back courtyard for some undercover Mediterranean dining. There is a outside private hot and cold shower after a day on the beach or take a leisurely bathe in the 150 year old cast iron bath. With 2 bedrooms, one with Queen Bed and the other twin, its an ideal space for a family.

"Fabulous place to stay in Kalk Bay"
We have just returned from staying at Pineapple Cottage in Kalk Bay. The house which is late Victorian has a modern feel. Very light, airy, spacious with the high ceilings, and has a sense of calm and… More

"Charming and well located house!"
Value for money. Extremely friendly and helpful owners living next door. Charming and spacious house, great for a family. Courtyards are a great plus. Outdoor shower was lovely. Well situated in Kalk … More
Thank you for your kind words about the cottage and Kalk Bay, it was lovely to meet you and your family. I am sorry about your nasty experience. On providing more detail I have notified local authorities and warned surrounding businesses. It's unpleasant having this go on in such an unique part of Cape Town.

"Beautifully decorated character cottage moments walk from main street in Kalk Bay"
If you don't know Cape Town and never heard of Kalk Bay, then do yourself a favour, do spend a couple of days here - it's brilliant. If you like cafes and art galleries and quirky little beaches with rock pools and a swimming pool filled with fresh sea water (and waves), then this is a great place to stay.
The cottage is gorgeous, beautifully decorated and well appointed and a great outside shower and two little courtyard gardens.
Thank you for your review, lovely to meet you and your family and hope you pay us a visit sometime again.

Thank you for your kind review, it was an absolute pleasure accommodating you! The wifi has been noted, although a break is a good for one, I agree, but we are underway making plans to have it installed. Go well and enjoy what hopefully will become a warmer spring.

"Pineapple Cottage exceeded our expectations!"
It is rare that accommodation booked online exceeds expectations, and Pineapple Cottage certainly did. We were pleasantly surprised at the generous size of the rooms, the large outside areas allowing ample space for our two young boys to play and the gorgeous view from the front terrace. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds extremely comfortable and full DSTV (all satellite channels) is a big plus! Carol is a wonderfully helpful hostess and she and her husband Tom were always there to offer advice about wonderful Kalk Bay. The cottage is an easy walk to all the main attractions - the harbour, tidal pools, train station, famous Olympia bakery, restaurants and nightlife. I highly recommend Pineapple Cottage to anyone wanting to visit Kalk Bay.
It was a great pleasure accommodating you and your family, we look forward to welcoming you back! Warmest, The Olives!

"A special place to stay in Cape Town"
My husband and I were delighted with Pineapple Cottage from the moment we stepped foot into it. It is elegantly, comfortably and uniquely furnished, with big airy rooms and all the mod cons such as a washing machine and a dish washer. It is also spotlessly clean. We slept so well there and relaxed thoroughly! Carol and her family were so welcoming and helpful to us. Kalk Bay is charming with wonderful eateries in walking distance from the cottage and it is a very safe area to walk around in. We would stay there again any time.
Thank you for your kind review, it was a delight accommodating you at Pineapple Cottage. We welcome you back anytime!
