Further details indoors

This is a well appointed three bedroom apartment with king, queen and standard sized double beds. The living area has high ceilings with two modern style chandeliers and original art by local artists. The lounge area has a relaxing airy feel and leads through double sliding doors onto the balcony. The Italian design granite top kitchen is fully fitted with all the normal kitchen equipment you would expect. There is also a guest toilet with hand basin in addition to the two bathrooms.

Further details outdoors

The balcony, with Webber BBQ, is north facing (for the sun) with views of the surrounding mountains, privacy given by an indigenous 'protected' tree.

Access to the building is through a security entrance controlled by security fob and remotely from the apartments. There is 24/7 manned security and secure off road parking.

One of the real benefits of this apartment is its proximity to the long sandy Hout Bay beach (two minutes walk) and the local bistros, bars and restaurants (both family priced and those wanting excellent dining). Hout Bay is the largest fishing village in the area (the fishing fleet is based in the Hout Bay Harbour which is situated at the far end of the Beach (so, close enough for fresh fish but not so close as to interfere with your holiday).

In addition to the Gym attached to the Village there is a Curves Gym across the road.

Further details

This apartment is used by our family from time to time and is suitably equipped. We hope to rent it to those who will enjoy what it offers and its position in a very friendly fishing and holiday village just south of Cape Town. Enjoy.

The Western Cape region

The Cape Town region has a Mediterranean climate, with summer running from late November to the end of April. The geography around Cape Town is very varied. The lush green Garden Route running along the southern most coast of Africa from Cape Town through George, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay and on to Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. The West Coast north of Cape Town offers long and very remote sandy beaches, leading to Namaqualand where in the spring there is a wonderful display of wild flowers.

Cape Town is a good starting point for understanding southern Africa history, it is where the first Europeans settled and from where the migrations inland initiated. Evidence of the very earliest settlers in this region can be found north of Cape Town in caves depicting rock art by the San people.

The waters of the southern coast hoste the Southern Right Whales from June to November where they come to breed before then returning to the Antarctic ocean to feed off the plancton. The Southern Right Whales are one of the larger species. The best viewing from the shore is on the False Bay coast towards Simons Town, and in and near Hermanus. Boat trips to view the Whales are run out of Simons Town and Hermanus.
