Golf Information: Tee up to play on this David Frost signature golf course - the first 27-hole layout in the Western Cape. Backdrop to your back-swing is the majestic Paarl Franschhoek mountain range. Add mature trees, artfully conceived water features, and the famous Berg River and you've got the kind of layout that challenges the pro, rewards the amateur and inspires residents out for a stroll in their 140 hectare back yard. Boschenmeer blends the experience of natural beauty with playability in a way that is set to achieve world renown. Designer David Frost has created a golf course of true championship standard. At the same time he has achieved a first class golfing experience that will both challenge the low handicap and scratch golfer, yet not be too daunting for the less experienced 'weekender'. The 27-hole layout lends itself to championship play, with more simultaneous rounds possible. Which means less time taken to reach the final rounds. The Boschenmeer Golf and Country Estate with its David Frost signature golf course, offers superb golfing. It is the only 27-hole golf course in the Western province, and the first David Frost signature golf course in South Africa. Boschenmeer also offers a high-tech golf academy and driving range, as well as a state-of-the-art club house. Other estate facilities include a swimming pool, floodlit tennis courts, and play area for children

We stayed for a month and a half with our two children who simply did not want to leave! The house is well appointed and had everything we required from all the electrical appliances (large fridge freezer, washer, dryer, flatscreen tv), to the smallest of items (playing cards, table mats, bottle stoppers). It has really been thought about very well. The furniture is of high quality and the garden well designed to provide great outdoor space. We actually used the bbq, or should I say 'braai' most evenings as the meats from the local mall were fabulous. Whilst on the subject of the Mall it does have everything you need and is a very short drive away and easy to find just remember that you are unable to buy any alcohol on a Sunday so stock up or head to one of the many vineyards Boschenmmer was easy to find and we used it as a base to see all of Cape Town and the area. the children loved the Vineyards, as did we :) their favourite was Fairview and the Goats. There is a lot to do for those of us that dont play golf and many attractions that were close by, in fact the Lions at Drakenstein were another highlight, as well as horseriding though next time i may have to ask for a slower pony as mine was a little frisky. The children used the pool every day and hardly ever found it being used and although I thought I might find it cold, it wasnt and even i joined them The house was great for us, the rooms have lots of storage and are very comfortable, especially the master bed. The main bathroom has a shower only whilst the master bedrooms ensuite has a bath / shower combo. So if you have younger children you would need to use the ensuite bathroom for bathtime. The owners have clearly thought about providing for tenants as they have even supplied a set of golf clubs and a fishing rod to borrow. Overall it was a very comfortable stay which operated as a home away from home, and gave us a base to explore and fall in love with the area. We look forward to coming back soon. |
Guestbook for Paarlgolf - Boschenmeer Golf
Dear Jeff, We very much enjoyed our stay at Paarl Golf. It was a great base for us and self catering was the only sensible option with a small baby. It was lovely that we all had our own space and it was great for our eldest son to be able to play outside in a safe environment. The Boschenmeer staff were all very helpful too. The house was very comfortable and there was everything we could have wanted and more. We feel that the stay was very good value for money and could be even better for, say, two or three couples sharing the house! I will certainly recommend Paarl Golf to our friends, many of which visit the Cape on a regular basis, Best Wishes, Claire
