10 Sunset Boulevard
About the home
This spacious apartment is perfect for a family or friends sharing. Only a 15 minute drive outside of the city centre, Blouberg offers a more tranquil alternative to the busy hub. Here residents act as if it is holiday all year around- surfers, kite surfers, wind-surfers, jet-skiers and beach walkers can always be found on the long stretch of beach that enjoys the best view of Table Mountain in the city- giving it its name “Blue Mountain beach”.
The apartment is tastefully decorated in modern earthy tones and furniture- dark leather couches and wood are contrasted by bright modern art work on the walls. The bedrooms have wooden floors and the master room enjoys 180 degree views of Table Mountain and Robben Island. A gas barbecue on the spacious balcony provides the perfect spot for entertaining guests- with the best view in town. This is really what is so special about this apartment- it provides a home away from home... on the beach.
Blouberg Strand forms part of a protected Marine Nature Reserve and is largely undeveloped for its beauty and location. In season, Southern Right Whales can be spotted in the Bay, while dolphins and seals are quite common sightings in this area. Even though Blouberg is literally only minutes away from the CBD, it forms the gateway to the West Coast- an area that shares a more relaxed tradition of fishing and enjoying life at a much slower pace. Not far from Blouberg is the West Coast National Park where indigenous fauna and flora may be enjoyed along with completely protected and unspoilt beach. Further up the coast there are numerous day trip opportunities- Darling is a small town with a few wine farms, quaint restaurants and what it has become famous for- it's Spring flower show. All along the coast, small restaurants that specialise in seafood can be found, the most famous being Die Strandloper where you can eat as much as you like in an outdoor area that sits right on the beach.
Besides the idyllic nature of the West Coast outdoors, the area is also host to an esteemed golf course, various malls and spas where one can be pampered all day long. If all this does not fulfil your needs the pulse of the city is only minutes away.
Surfers, kite surfers, wind-surfers, jet-skiers and beach walkers can always be found on the long stretch of beach that enjoys the best view of Table Mountain in the city- giving it its name “Blue Mountain beach”.

The Western Cape region

Cape Town (Afrikaans: Kaapstad; Xhosa: iKapa) is the second most populous city in South Africa, forming part of the metropolitan municipality of the City of Cape Town. It is the provincial capital of the Western Cape, as well as the legislative capital of South Africa, where the National Parliament and many government offices are located. Cape Town is famous for its harbour as well as its natural setting in the Cape floral kingdom, including well-known landmarks such as Table Mountain and Cape Point. Cape Town is one of the most popular South African destinations for tourism.
Cape Town was originally developed as a victualling (supply) station for Dutch ships sailing to Eastern Africa, India, and the Far East more than 200 years before the construction of the Suez Canal in 1869. Jan van Riebeeck's arrival on 6 April 1652 established the first permanent European settlement in South Africa. Cape Town quickly outgrew its original purpose as the first European outpost at the Castle of Good Hope. It was the largest city in South Africa until the growth of Johannesburg.
According to the 2007 Community Survey, the city has a population of 3.5 million. Cape Town's land area of 2,455 square kilometres (948 sq mi) is larger than other South African cities, resulting in a comparatively lower population density of 1,425 people per square kilometre (3,689/sq mi). Cape Town is twinned with Nice in France and Haifa in Israel.
