Home description
Ideally located right at the heart of the Central Business District- Harbour Edge provides an alternative to the generic accommodation that one often expects from all the big hotel names that are found in the same area. This part of the CBD is particularly popular as it practically sits on the doorstep of the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), and is only a few blocks away from the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Officially located in Green Point with all its trendy bars, restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques, Harbour Edge enjoys the best of all worlds- practically everything one could need is within walking distance.
Green Point is proud host to one of the 2010 World Cup Stadiums and is only minutes away from the Atlantic Seaboard beaches where white sand and an additional array of busy cocktail bars, restaurants and clubs can be found. The neighbouring district of De Waterkant, with its cobbled streets, colourful houses and hidden gems is also an enjoyable walk away. In the opposite direction, Long Street with all its famous boutiques, antique stores, book stores, clubs, coffee shops and restaurants cannot be missed as one of the most famous areas of Cape Town – for locals and tourists alike.
The apartment is large enough for a family and has various luxury features- like a wraparound balcony (that can be partially enclosed with fold able blinds) with city views, air-conditioning, a large plasma screen in the living room and one of the bedrooms, and a fully-equipped kitchen that enjoys views of Signal Hill. Visitors can enjoy home-cooked meals under the city sky on the private balcony or walk a few blocks away to one of the many top restaurants that South Africa has to offer.
The apartment is tastefully decorated in an afro-chic style that has become so popular with style icons- modern glass and chrome finishings are contrasted with neutral shades and African wooden sculptures made in North Africa. The windows have been double glazed to ensure minimum sound from the adjacent road which has also been considered in the price as a compromise.
The apartment also enjoys the convenience of two underground parking bays- incredibly hard to come by in this area- and 24-hour security for peace of mind.

The Western Cape region
Cape Town (Afrikaans: Kaapstad; Xhosa: iKapa) is the second most populous city in South Africa, forming part of the metropolitan municipality of the City of Cape Town. It is the provincial capital of the Western Cape, as well as the legislative capital of South Africa, where the National Parliament and many government offices are located. Cape Town is famous for its harbour as well as its natural setting in the Cape floral kingdom, including well-known landmarks such as Table Mountain and Cape Point. Cape Town is one of the most popular South African destinations for tourism.
Cape Town was originally developed as a victualling (supply) station for Dutch ships sailing to Eastern Africa, India, and the Far East more than 200 years before the construction of the Suez Canal in 1869. Jan van Riebeeck's arrival on 6 April 1652 established the first permanent European settlement in South Africa. Cape Town quickly outgrew its original purpose as the first European outpost at the Castle of Good Hope. It was the largest city in South Africa until the growth of Johannesburg.
According to the 2007 Community Survey, the city has a population of 3.5 million. Cape Town's land area of 2,455 square kilometres (948 sq mi) is larger than other South African cities, resulting in a comparatively lower population density of 1,425 people per square kilometre (3,689/sq mi). Cape Town is twinned with Nice in France and Haifa in Israel.
