The chalet is comfortable and inviting and we enjoy staying here as a family After a packed day at the beach (fishing, sailing, surfing and swimming in the waves) we enjoy the mild evenings, relaxing in the deckchairs on the terrace and dining with friends Sometimes we take an evening walk to the nearby beach and waterfront at sunset to admire the beautiful light on the water which is very characteristic of the "Bassin".
Cap Ferret offers the choice of two different types of bathing, both very close to each other: the sheltered side ("Le Bassin") is perfect for young children. Take your fishing net and enjoy crab hunting at low tide. On the other side of the peninsula are the massive ocean beaches where the sea is sometimes rough but always magnificent. Older children can enjoy playing in the waves and surfing (the main beach has lifeguards and supervised bathing). You can walk along the long expanse of sandy beaches for hours or just simply sunbathe.
Many activities are on offer, including: sailing club surf club bicycles for rent (many bicycle paths) walking typical local market visiting the local fishing villages boat trips (the "Dune du Pyla", "L'île aux oiseaux", Arcachon etc) seafood and oyster tasting little train that runs across the peninsula from the sheltered beaches to the ocean beaches restaurants bars several night clubs

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Gironde region
This region offers a variety of scenery including the ocean, lakes, countryside, hills, wide valleys ans vast vineyards producing excellent vintages. Aquitaine also offers miles of sandy beaches and is a paradise for surfing.
Cap-Ferret area
Cap-Ferret stretches its narrow strip of sand for a dozen or so miles. Cycling in the pine forest, swimming, tasting oysters outdoors, discovering fishermen's villages: "Cap-Ferret is a treasure that must be preserved at all costs" From Bordeaux Cap-Ferret can be reached in 45 minutes by car, but you can also catch a boat from Arcachon and rent a bike in Cap-Ferret. This is the favourite destination of Bordelais, coming here to surf, sunbathe or hike. At Cap-Ferret you'll find several restaurants with bistrot atmosphere or a maritime decor.
Once you have arrived, you can put away the car and rediscover the joys of getting around by bicycle! In Cap Ferret, everything is accessable on 2 wheels: beaches, shops, restaurants etc. However if you prefer using a car, parking is free throughout the town and at the many beaches.
Come and discover Cap-Ferret at low season. Most local shops and restaurants are open all year round. From April to June and September to October the weather is mostly mild and sometimes even hot. During these months, Cap Ferret offers a whole range of activities including walking, cycling, afternoons at the beach at the beach and even swimming in the sea!
