The South East England region

Canterbury is the cultural capital of 'the garden of England'. A UNESCO heritage city, and home to Canterbury Cathedral, Canterbury is steeped in history. It is a beautiful city with a river meandering through its Middle Age architecture. It is also a modern city and boasts the best Theatre and Concert Venue in Kent, The Marlowe Theatre. Canterbury is very compact and everything is within walking distance. There is a wonderful organic Farmer's Market, The Good's Shed, which has won global awards and hundred's of great places to eat.

Canterbury is a great base for exploring the South of England. A train from Canterbury West is only 1 hour to London. The seaside town of Whitstable is 20 minutes on the bus. You could get the train to a beautiful english village like Wye, and walk back to Canterbury off-road through stunning countryside along the Pilgrim's Way! Faversham is 20 minutes by bus, a seaside town and home to Britain's Oldest Brewery, Shepherd Neame.
