A lovely cosy 300 yr old Thatched Cottage,just outside the village of Herne,Nr Herne Bay. On bus route to ;Canterbury,Whitstable,Margate,Ramsgate. Pub with food nearby, also several other pub/restaurants within 15 minutes drive, and of course in Canterbury City Centre itself you will find numerous eateries and places of interest in this beautiful Cathedral City .

The South East England / Kent region

Herne Common is located just 5 miles from the Catherdral city of Canterbury, in semi rural countryside, country lanes and woodland for walking,and yet not isolated .A bus stops close to cottage ,where you can get to all the surrounding villages,towns of Herne Bay,Beaches,Whitstable famous for its oysters,the medieval town of Faversham is approx 20mins away,as is Margate,Ramsgate,Broadstairs. There are several golf courses within 10mins drive.Supermarkets in Herne Bay and Whitstable 10mins. Local village shop in Herne 15mins walking distance,with a beautiful church at the centre.A Wild life centre can be found within 15 mins walk,in the Wealden Woodlands nearby.

There are many places of interest to see and visit in this part of Kent,Canterburbury Cathedral,Leeds Castle, Hever Castle,Award winning Enchanted Forest at Groombridge Place Gardens set in 200 acres with 17thcentury Moted Manor in Edenbridge .in Westerham there is Chartwell House and museum of Sir Winston Churchil,and in Orpington ,English Heritage has the home of Charles Darwin where you can see his study wich holds his writing desk and numerous objects connected with his works. Finally there is the very new 65 million pound Dickens Theme Park in Chatham. All these places can be found in under an hour from our cottage.A very convenient location for your vacation.

Canterbury city Centre 15minutes. 40 mins from Dover/Folkestone via A2. 70mins from London via M2 motorway. Direct service via London Victoria by Train 65mins approx.

There is off road parking for 2 cars. Pretty rear cottage garden with HOT-TUB! Garden furniture. (There is no Barbeque due to the Thatched roof.) courtyard with table and chairs next to kitchen for outside dining.

Conditions

A Welcome Pack is provided. Bed-linen /towels not provided ,for visitors from abroad this can be arranged as an extra ,a charge will be made for this. Pets are welcome. Pick-up from train/ferries can be arranged. Security Deposit against damage to the property or extra cleaning is required when booking. As this is self-catering accommodation you will be expected to leave the cottage as you find it. Duvets/pillows/blankets/ are provided.
