This luxury self catering holiday cottage in Kent is one of a pair of new barns set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The neighbouring barn is still used to press grapes that are grown on the surrounding vineyards. This lovely peaceful Kent setting in glorious countryside on the North Downs and yet within just a few miles of motorway connections and the Channel Tunnel for visits to France.
This English holiday cottage in Kent has been furnished to the highest of standards with a lovely double height reception room giving a light and spacious feel to the living space and the entire Kent holiday cottage. The comfy sofas in this holiday cottage (one is a double sofa bed) give a really cosy feel to this pretty room. The kitchen area in this Kent holiday cottage has cream painted units stylish black granite surfaces very much in keeping with the stylish 'farmhouse' feel of the Kent home.
There are two bedrooms within the barn, the first of which is a double with stunning views of the surrounding Kent countryside. A further single bedroom has original oak beams and pretty bed dressed in crisp cotton bed linen.
The Kent holiday cottage also has a sunny patio garden at the front with magnificent views of the rolling hills that surround the property. The owner has thoughtfully provided a patio table, chairs and parasol, perfect for those lazy summer days in the Kent sunshine. This self catering holiday cottage is situated on the outskirts of the pretty rural Kent village of Petham, with a choice of cross country bike trails andwondrouswalks for explorers and near to riding stables at Pettbottom. For those looking for a local tipple a 20 minute walk will take you to village pub or a 5 minute drive to popular gastro pub The Granville and for those looking for a treat why not try the French / English restaurant the Timerbats.It is even possible to walk into Historic Canterbury which is about three miles away from this holiday let in Kent.
Canterbury was settled as early as Saxon times who favoured it because of its strategic position in a valley with two rivers.It was later taken over by the Romans, whose presence remains with the largely intact City walls and various Roman ruins scattered throughout the city.Canterbury was also home to Geoffrey Chaucer's famous Canterbury Tales which are well depicted in a museum entirely dedicated to them in the city centre. In modern times the bustling, vibrant city is best know for superb shopping, West end style Theatre shows and an eclectic choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants.
Further afield from this holiday house there are wonderful Kent gardens to explore including Goodnestone, Sissinghurst and Great Dixter. If it is castles that interest you, both Leeds and Dover castles are within an easy drive of this self catering holiday house. Leeds Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in England, also has a fabulous golf course and the new “Go Ape” attraction which is an award winning high wire forest adventure course up to 40 feet into the trees; ideal for the adventurous types staying at this luxury English property in Kent.
