The apartment is located on the 2nd floor of a quality building in the gated 4 star MMV Le Petit Lac Resort & Spa, its within a 2 min walk to the Swimming Pool, Pool Bar and Grill and Playgrounds and Tennis courts just 10 minutes drive from the centre of Cannes. The resort is built around a natural lake which makes for a very pretty setting but as the lake is fully enclosed with protected boardwalks it also makes it very child friendly. While benefitting from its proximity to the tourist attractions and bustle of cosmopolitan Cannes, the apartment has the added attraction of being located in a seven hectare landscaped resort, which offers a host of amenities and is tranquil and peaceful, so it really offers the best of both worlds!!

To the front, the apartment has beautiful views of the mountains and to the back it looks onto the Cannes Links golf course which is the oldest golf course on the Cote d'Azur, having been established in 1891.

The self catering apartment is fully equipped and furnished to a very high standard. There are two bedrooms (one double and one twin). The double bedroom has access to a spacious balcony which offers golf course views and it also has a window overlooking the golf course. There is a generously sized built-in wardrobe in the room also. The twin room overlooks the beautiful lake and it also has a built-in wardrobe. There is a livingroom with a well appointed kitchen area with a dining table that seats six people. The kitchen has all the modern appliances and utensils that you would expect to find in upmarket holiday accommodation. The livingroom has a large and comfortable sofabed and it too has balcony access. For those long leisurely lunches, there is also a dining table and chairs on the balcony. The balcony has a sylvan, peaceful setting as it looks onto a wooded area of the golf course. The apartment has a bathroom with shower, a separate toilet and it also boasts a separate shower room with sink.

The building has a lift and there is a dedicated parking space in an underground carpark.

As the apartment is located in a gated resort which is mainly pedestrianised, it offers a great degree of safety and tranquility for guests. There are a host of amenities to suit both young and old on site from a wellness centre for the adults with hot tub and Turkish steam bath to a wealth of family facilities including a swimming pool, children's playground, ping pong, tennis courts, and boules area. The resort also boasts a restaurant and poolside snack bar.

Outdoors: The resort is set in seven hectares with private lake so lots of areas to explore in the gated resort. Just across from the resort there are lovely river walks along the river Siagne. Minutes from the resort there is a casino, a golf course and crazy golf. Nearby Mandelieu has a host of good restaurants (80 in total!!!) including the 2 Michelin starred Oasis restaurant. All of these, along with the beach and castle at Mandelieu are within walking distance of the apartment. There are also good supermarkets both within walking distance and a short drive of the apartment (Lidl, Spar, Casino and a Geant Casino which is surrounded by boutiques and other stores as well as a McDonalds!!)

If you are travelling with a larger party a second apartment is also available for rent in the resort (enquiries to owner).

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

The Cote d'Azur (French Riviera) has long been one of the great attractions of France, for the glamour, sunshine, beaches and sophistication of resorts such as Cannes, Saint-Tropez and Nice - a reputation that is well earned. From Cannes Mandelieu you can visit by car or public transport (which is very good) the whole of the Cote d'Azur. It's such a lovely place to explore with many less well known gems (Gorbio, Theoule -sur- Mer, Mougins, Frejus, Bormes-les-Mimosas) to discover along with the more famous. The French Riviera runs along the coast from Bandol, west of Toulon, to Menton and the Italian border to the East, so the Northern Italian towns of Ventimiglia, Bordighera and San Remo are also easily accessed.

Benefitting from a moderate climate, the Cote d'Azur is more consistently sunny than any other part of France, enjoying on average more than 300 days of sunshine a year. Guests can take advantage of the nearby coastline and all of its seaside activities. Moreover Cannes Mandelieu's close proximity to the Southern Alps, which are only an hour or so by car, allows for easy access to the ski slopes.

The Cannes Mandelieu / La Napoule area

For lovers of the sea and nature, Mandelieu la Napoule will whisk you away. Situated at the edge of the Mediterranean, at the gates of Cannes it offers a fantastic setting for a unique destination midway between Saint Tropez and the Italian border. Whether you want to eat in great restaurants, ride a horse, fly over the wonderful sites of the Cote d'Azur by plane or helicopter, or play crazy golf as a family, Mandelieu gives you the opportunity.

From April to September, there are a number of sea excursions which include big game fishing , dolphin watching and jet skiing. A tour of Chateau de La Napoule is also highly recommended. Festivals are organised throughout the year for inhabitants of Mandelieu and tourists and a list of these is shown on the official website for Mandelieu (see below for a link to the website). Mandelieu La Napoule has over 80 restaurants competing for talent and diversity so everyone will be spoilt for choice. The restaurants range from the two Michelin starred L'Oasis restaurant and the Bib Gourmand restaurants of Les Bartavelles & L'Etage to a host of "family plus" restaurants which provide children's menus, high chairs or booster seats, colouring books, small play areas and accessibility for prams.

The area is also rich in sandy beaches, and the harbour facilities are exceptional with six harbours completely dedicated to sailing. Water-based recreation abounds throughout the year thanks to the particularly favourable climate.

Beach, water sport and sailing combines to make the area an excellent nautical destination.

There is also direct access to the Forest massifs of Esterel and Tanneron, which makes it a great destination for "green tourists".

With the local parks of San Peyre and Esterel, and access by regular sea link (from April till the end of September) to the Island of Ste Marguerite, and the forest of the Grand Duc, areas for walks and hikes are numerous. Routes and guided walks are suggested all year long by the Tourist Office.

It is in Mandelieu-La Napoule that the first golf course of Côte d'Azur, the "Old Course" was created in 189, and it is this course that the Resort is adjacent to. With the "Riviera Golf of Barbossi" inaugurated a century later, three courses (two 18 holes and one 9 holes) make of a major golf destination of the Riviera.

Cannes, which is a few minutes away by car, is one of the world's most prestigious cities.

With its exceptional sunshine, its luxury hotels, excellent restaurants, colourful casinos, historic city centre, sandy beaches and magnificent bay, Cannes has all the features and assets envied by seaside and tourist resorts all over the world.

The city boasts 280 restaurants (one of which has been awarded Michelin stars: Palme d'Or**), 3 casinos, 700 shops carrying all the notable brands and 10 night clubs.

The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur is one of the most popular holiday regions in the south of France. The region covers a large area from the Mediterranean Sea up to the French Alps. The Provence includes the French Riviera where the apartment is located and is famous for its sunny weather and colourful countryside, tradition, wine, food, and language (French -Provençal). Its main attractions include the principal cities, many of which can be easily accessed by road or rail from the apartment, and the numerous extremely pretty villages which can be easily explored by car or bike. A visit to at least one of these villages (I would recommend St Paul de Vence, Valbonne, and Fayence ) is a must!

These are all situated within a half hour drive up from the apartment and Beach and offer a relaxing and rewarding break from the Mandelieu and La Napoule areas.

The Cote d'Azur (French Riviera) has long been one of the great attractions of France, for the glamour, sunshine, beaches and sophistication of resorts such as Cannes, Saint-Tropez and Nice - a reputation that is well earned. Cannes

The Cannes Mandelieu / La Napoule area

If you love the sea and beautiful landscapes the Cannes Mandelieu area is perfect for you! Located on the outskirts of Cannes, between the hills of the Esterel and the wooded vales of the Tanneron, the area is famed for the breezes of the Mediterranean, bringing you the scents of the pines and mimosa while you cool your feet in the azure blue sea! All year long, the town of Mandelieu-La-Napoule which is a stone's throw from the apartment, organises a myriad of events and festivals including the famous Festival of the Mimosas in February and countless sporting, cultural, nautical and artistic events... More than enough to keep any family busy and content...

The area is also rich in sandy beaches, and the harbour facilities are exceptional with six harbours completely dedicated to sailing. Water-based recreation abounds throughout the year thanks to the particularly favourable climate.

"Autumn Break"

We stayed in this apartment for seven nights and found it to be well situated and comfortable. The location is ideal about 20 minutes walk from restaurants, shops and bars. Located on the edge of Mandelieu golf course - our balcony overlooked a green. The underground car park is ideal with an elevator to the apartment. The swimming pool - less than two minutes walk - is large with plenty area for sunbathing. We found the staff to be helpful and courteous.
While we didn't eat in the complex restaurant the fare looked appetizing, varied and good value.

"Exciting area, apartment great."

We stayed in apartment no 609 in July 2013, the complex is very self contained, it has a restaurant, pool, spa, pool cafe, children's play area and a lovely lake. The two bed apartment is decorated to a high standard and is fully equipped to self cater, it had a lovely balcony overlooking the golf club. The pool has a shallow children s section and a deeper end suitable for diving. There are lovely beaches in the area, and fabulous restaurants. There are several supermarkets in Mandelieu.

"Safe, clean, central location, great weather & facilities in house, & restaurants close by. Will be back next year!"

We travelled via Ryanair Dublin to Nice, flights were reasonably priced and perfect duration for young children (not to long), Aer Lingus also fly to Nice.
The Complex is about 30 mins from the airport at Nice, we took a taxi, Taxis are expensive, however we discovered that if we had booked a shuttle bus operated by an independent operator it would have been better value. When we got to reception they were very friendly and directed us to the apartment.
There is a little shop at reception that sell the essentials, so if you need any essentials on that first night its handy, the apartment was clean, fresh, beautifully apportioned, great old golf course view from the large balcony and master bedroom en suite, It has a full bath which was great for the kiddies at the end of a busy day poolside, The apartment is also situated close by the pool and close to the playground, The complex tennis courts and basketball court are also very close by.
There is a pool side restaurant that opens mid-day till 10pm.
The pool side is a great place for the holiday children to meet up and make new friends, some of us parents organised a boys and girls football tournament running for the kiddies for a few morning and it hosted Irish, Welsh, American, Russian, French children all playing happily together. We found that the complex seems to have repeat business from families from around the world coming back year after year, the kiddies all know get to know each other and are very open to welcoming new comers. We had two little 4 year old girls with us and they had a wonderful time and made friends very easily.
There is a great supermarket approx. a twenty minute walk from the complex, or a five minute drive, handy for stocking up on fridge essentials and breakfast supplies. There is also some great shopping areas, you will need a car to get to the out of town centres, when driving you are a short distance from some great have to see places like Monaco and Monte Carlo ( you can also do these via train journey form Cannes). There are some fantastic local produce markets held weekly across the border in Italy a real adventure awaits you.
The complex is within walking distance of some lovely restaurants, Robinson's, and the Jade Garden Chinese are two we enjoyed very much. Food in both restaurants is excellent, they are both family run business and the Staff were friendly and service was excellent, eating out is little expensive, but remember you are in pearl of the South of France and the prices reflect that.
If driving the apartment is five minutes from the main beachfront at Cannes, with its Ice Cream parlours, Cruise ships on the bay and miles of beach. You will find shady trees spotted along the beach if you are travelling with young children, and there are toilets spotted along the beaches too.
This apartment gives you access to, a fun relaxed holiday even if you don't venture outside the complex gates. If you do decided to venture outside the complex you will find, breath-taking views of the hills of Cannes, river walks and the Cote d'-Azur, glorious beaches, casinos, restaurants, bistros, ice cream parlors and wonderful cobbled paved streets with Boulanguries and little surprises everywhere.
We are so excited to return soon for our next adventure.
