The apartment is in a 3-star apartment building right on the beach, designed in the traditional style of the big hotels here in Cannes. It has a vast reception area opening onto lovely gardens with a beautiful circular swimming pool, which has a central island.
The Apartment has two rooms and a large balcony with wonderful views of the beach and the Mediterranean and of the pool and gardens, where you can sit and watch the sun set over the Esterel Mountains.
It has an open plan living room with convertible sofa beds and a kitchen and dining area, equipped with a 4 ring stove, an oven and fridge. There is also a double bedroom and a bathroom. The satellite colour television has English, French, German and Italian channels.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
Nearby is the village of Mandelieu, which has an excellent golf course and 8 kilometres of fine sandy beach ending at the foot of the Esterel hills. In the other direction is Cannes itself and all its magic. The International Film Festival is held here in April or May and in August there is a huge firework festival. Other events include a Battle of Flowers parade and several Gastronomic weeks.
The Boulevard du Midi which is a lovely beach front boulevard runs in front of the apartment building and is a popular pedestrian street with palms, beautiful flower beds and restaurants.
Cannes area
In the hills behind Cannes is the elegant old town of Grasse, famous for its perfumes and essences and surrounded by mimosas and the fields of roses and other flowers, which go into making them. Mougins is one of several traditional Provencal villages with some excellent restaurants.

Further details indoors: Cannes is world famous, needs no further introduction. Film festival, congresses, splendid sand beaches, exclusive shops, 30 kms from Nice airport. 2.5 kms from the Palais de Festival, shuttle and buses depart regularly to/from the Palais and Residence Maeva (formerly Pierre & Vacances)/Cannes Verrerie in which the apartment is located.
Fan/ventilator in the apartment. Electricity consumption covered by the owner. Smoking not allowed inside the apartment. Please smoke only on the balcony, to keep the newly painted walls white and avoid an unpleasant smell for the next guests.
Breakfast available at Café Bleu by the pool every day from 07:00 - 10:30 at euro 8/person.

The residence faces the sea, just apx. 50 metres to an excellent sand beach.
The apartment:
A 2 room apartment for 4 persons, 30 m2 plus balcony 8m2. It is cleverly utilized and serves the purpose well. A wonderful balcony with a splendid view to the sea, the beach, the coast towards west, the Esterel mountains, the swimming pool and the palm tree garden. You can enjoy the afternoon sun and sunset from the balcony since it is facing south-west. The balcony fence is a transparent glass and steel frame architecture which allows you to sit on the balcony and watch down onto the activity around the pool.

The apartment is fully furnished.
Entertainment: There is access to a bar (summer time), a pool hall with piano, a terrasse.
Washing clothes: There is a coin wash (launderette) nearby the building. Ask at the front desk for direction.
Ventilation: A moveable fan/ventilator. Electricity covered by the Owner.
Heating: Electric heaters, one in each room. Electricity consumption is included in the rent.
Parking: An underground video supervised parking lot is available as an optional extra.
Shops: Food etc.: Petit Casino, 8-8, bakery etc. in easy walking and carrying distance at Avenue Francis Tonner. Ask for directions at the counter. Beware of lunch break 12-15:00 and Sunday afternoon closing in most shops.
Pool: The pool is free of charge to use and one can sit on benches and use the sun beds around the pool free of charge. The pool is not heated but very child friendly due to a gradual deepening similar to the beach nearby. Pool period is not on fixed dates but typically opened mid April and closes early October. Outside this period the sea is warmer.
Beach: The beach is sandy and public. No sun bed or umbrella rent out.
Safety: Our apartment has recently been equipped with a digital safe which we recommend you to use for storing of e.g. passports, credit cards, cameras etc while you are out. No extra charge for this convenience.
Our apartment has been upgraded with a modern electricity cut-out in case of short circuit.
The door to the corridor has been reinforced with a metal bar to protect against break-in.
Conditions
Deposit euro 200 or GBP 150 payable upon booking, shall be refunded after departure provided no damages.
Payment of rent and cleaning due 6 weeks before arrival.

We would like to thank you again for letting the apartment in Cannes over Christmas 2007. Everything was okay and we enjoyed our stay and the wonderful view off the balcony while having our dinner, especially during meals since by these temperatures it was possible to eat outdoors also during December. We found what we expected from the description, the contact with the owner proved to be easy and sufficient.
The site of the apartment in the MAEVA building was in walking distance to nearby shopping centres, the walk towards Cannes centre took about 20 mins along the seaside. Weather was fine, 13-14 degrees C and little wind. Ideal conditions for excursions and the holidays in the South of France will remain a vivid memory for a long time. The train to Monaco or Nice was a five-minute-walk away.
We would recommend this accommodation to anyone who would love to explore La Côte d'Azur.

We have just returned from Cannes and from our perspective everything worked smoothly. We did enjoy the view a great deal and in fact had every meal on the balcony. We found we did not need to use the fan as there was adequate ventilation and we were out all day anyways. We enjoyed visiting the bakery just north of the apartment and found all services such as groceries and restaurants to be very convenient. We frequently walked to and from Cannes(it took us about 25 minutes to the heart of the harbour) and found it to be a most pleasant walk by the sea. We tended to swim between the big rock outcroppings as they were scenic and the beach there was quite wide . We were impressed with the good sand and excellent water. The pleasure was ours in being able to stay in your apartment. Feel free to use any of our comments that would be useful. Contrary to my concern about the commutation to Palais des Festival, it was very convenient as MIPTV shuttle passed by the bus stop near from the apartment building every 30 minutes and I could also take buses to right in front of Palais. Fortunately, it was the area I used to stay during the festival, where big residence hotels are located, so everything was familiar to me. My family was most pleased with the accommodations and the equipment available. We had a wonderful time and would gladly return today. It was difficult to leave such a lovely view of the world. We travelled a bit, but minimally, since what could be better to see than to relax where we were? Thanks for your help.
