About the home

Bright, spacious 1-bed apartment (sleeps up to 4), only 150m from the beautiful beach, «La plage du midi» and Old Port, in the charming old town of Cannes. 2 sunny terraces - ideal for sunbathing and al-fresco dining -
overlook quiet courtyards.

Great central location in a modern building, only a few minutes walk from all down-town amenities, including the famous Palais des Festivals (home of the Cannes Film Festival), Boulevard de la Croissette, Old Port and main shopping street, Rue d'Antibes, as well as a wide range of bars, restaurants and vibrant local food market.

Owners Note: The apartment is very clean and well looked after. We visit it regularly to make sure that everything is kept to a very high standard. We have a very nice local lady who helps us with this. We actually lived in Cannes until recently, and go back there on a regular basis. The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

The French Riviera (or Cote d'Azur) stretches west from the Italian Riviera and Menton through Monaco, Nice, Antibes and Cannes, along the Mediterranean coast of the Alpes-Maritimes region.

The Riviera became a fashionable resort in the late 19th and early 20th century. Initially it was a winter resort, valued for its mild winter climate. Today the region still benefits from a Mediterranean-type climate, with exceptional sunshine and mild temperatures almost year-round.

The Cannes / Central Cannes area

Cannes is the "star" of the French Riviera, famous for the annual Film Festival in May and the glitzy hotels, cars, beaches and visitors attracted here. Exotic people and plenty of poodles (it is France, after all!), Cannes has something to offer all year-round.

Cannes highlights include:
- The Beaches - Miles of glorious sandy beaches
- The Croisette - the ideal spot to soak up the real Cannes atmosphere. Full of things to watch day and night!
- The Old Town ('Le Suquet') - narrow winding streets filled with charming restaurants and small shops
- The Marché Forville - cheese, fresh fish, flowers, vegetables, olive oil, wines and lots of local atmosphere!
- The Old Port - admire the super yachts of the rich and famous from one of the great restaurants here
- Îles de Lérins - two beautiful islands in the bay of Cannes. Great for walking, snorkelling and a picnic with family and friends. Well worth visiting. Ferries depart from very close to our apartment every 30 minutes.

- Regular direct bus service from Nice airport to Cannes bus station, only a few minutes walk away.
- 10 minutes walk to/from Cannes railway station.
- If arriving by car, there is plenty of parking less than 5 minutes walk away, which can be booked in advance.

Flying to Nice:
easyJet (www.easyjet.com) & Ryanair (www.ryanair.com) fly from most UK/Irish airports to Nice.

Arrival by Train:

"My wife and I stayed at "Le Palazzio" in June 2008 and really enjoyed our stay there. The apt. was squeaky clean,very neat and well-furnished; the kitchen is functional and the TV set with satellite proved a real added value. Nice bedroom with balcony. Location is perfect, just off the Plages du Midi, which we really think are the best in Cannes. Would go back anytime! Would I recommend this holiday rental to my best friend? Absolutely!"
