This 3-bedroom bungalow, recently redecorated, was built with the aim of getting the most pleasure out of fantastic views. Large windows in the lounge and main bedrooms, a covered veranda, landscaped paths meandering in mature gardens full of citrus trees, all looking out onto the bay of Cannes, create an atmosphere of relaxation, dangerously leaning towards laziness.

You may end up spending hours just marvelling at the scenery. Yet within 15 minutes you can walk down to the beginning of Rue d'Antibes and the Croisette where the celebrities hang out. All around the house a maze of twisty roads go up and down the hills of Cannes going past spectacular houses and properties as seen in the movies.

Whether a family or a bunch of friends on holiday or visitors to any of the Cannes trade fairs, exhibitions or festivals, this villa makes your stay in Cannes a happy one.

Further details indoors

The villa is approximately 120m2. The main interior features are:

a) Two very big bedrooms, one with an antique double bed and exercise bicycle and another bedroom with two single beds. Both bedrooms have huge windows so as to offer a panoramic view of downtown Cannes and coastline. There is also a a third smaller but comfortable single bedroom

b) The spacious lounge/sitting room, simple but elegant, that leads out to a covered veranda where the best views can be enjoyed. There is a a double sofa-bed in the lounge so the house can easily sleep 7 people. There is a master bathroom/shower/wc as well as a second wc. The kitchen has all the amenities to prepare and serve the most complex of meals.

Further details outdoors

The entrance to the property is a large cast-iron gate that can be locked at nights for extra security. Inside the gate is a parking pool for 2 cars. The main feature of the property is undoubtedly the garden with lemon and mandarin trees, palm trees and other mature trees.

Pretty landscaped paths encourage you to take walks round the garden.

A covered veranda to the side of the house with old-fashioned white-painted wicker armchairs is the best spot to sit and enjoy the spectacular, unparalleled view of Cannes.

Further details

The property caretaker can undertake to provide daily or regular cleaning service as well as to serve breakfast. He can also offer a driving service. These are extras that can be negotiated either in advance or on site.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region

Perhaps the most prestigious and well-known holiday area for the last couple of centuries of the whole of Europe. The coast is better known as the "Riviera" and spans all the way from St Tropez to the West to past Porto Fino in Italy to the East.

In between the city of Nice and the Principality of Monaco add their own glamour to the area. This is the Mediterranean so you know the sea is blue the climate is warm and the food is wonderful. Last but not least the scenery is breath-taking at all seasons.

Cannes

Best known for its Film Festival and for the celebrities that walk up and down La Croisette (Cannes sandy beach sea front). Cannes has a lot more to offer. Rue d' Antibes that runs practically parallel to La Croisette is one of the most fashionable shopping streets in Europe.

Cannes casinos are only just second to Monaco in terms of familiarity. Most importantly, Cannes is the perfect launching pad for exploring the interior of the Alpes-Maritimes, where road trips, bicycle rides and walks taking in castles, villages, canyons, rivers, mountains and generally discovering the countryside is a pastime that requires repeated visits to the area before one can claim justice is done.

Thank you for your kind review. I hope I will have the chance to welcome you again at Villa Marika for a longer period this time. I have recently trimmed the tops of a number of trees on my property as well as the neighbours trees (his permission, my cost!) and the views have become even more incredible. I can now see right into Cannes harbour/marina!

"Cozy Property in Cannes"

Villa Marika is a very cozy property overlooking Cannes. The drive can be quite confusing and 'exciting' to and from the address - lots of switchbacks and narrow one-way streets. We inadvertently booked our stay on Bastille Day, the French National Day and the large picture windows were perfect for watching the fireworks that evening! The garden is very rustic with lemon trees and tomato plants. The caretaker left us some tomatoes which were delicious! The property is a little old which adds to the charming character, but everything works fine and we had a great time! Thank you for the great vacation, we hope to be back again for a visit soon.

Thank you for your positive comments. Come again! I am sure each time you will discover a different way to get to the house. I often experiment trying to find a better shortcut and I often get lost in the process. it's such a maze!

"AN AMAZING HOLIDAY HOME, CUTE AND COMFORTABLE WITH STUNNING VIEWS."

A homely spacious villa overlooking the town of Cannes ,lit up by fireworks on New Year's eve which made our stay spectacular and one to remember.
The villa clean and well looked after with amazing views from almost every room of the villa. Breakfast at the veranda overlooking the gardens was a must every day!
I loved the old fashioned furniture which made me travel back in time but were also comfortable.
The owner was very helpful and easy to contact.
We rented a car, which we were able to park on the premises and visit picturesque villages around the area full of natural beauty, art and history. We often walked down the town with plenty of stores on the way up to pick up delicacies to accompany a glass of wine or an exclusive breakfast.

Thank you for your nice comments. I agree with you, the fire New Year fireworks display is great and possibly a well kept secret of Cannes.

"Christmas in Cannes at Villa Marika was all we hoped."

First, the view is magnificent. I don't think there is anywhere else you could get this view for this price. There were stores within walking distance, and the hills were not too steep for our prairie legs. We would recommend having a car for longer excursions, but it's not necessary for your basic needs. The furniture is comfortable. The kitchen, while a bit old-fashioned, met all our needs. The garden provided fresh limes to squeeze on our fish. The villa was a great choice for a family reunion that included an active baby and a disabled adult. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, prompt and accommodating. All in all, it was a wonderful Christmas.

Thanks for the comment. Come again! You will find the view even more incredible now that I cut the tops of trees and trimmed branches. The wood kept the new fire place going at the villa...

"Second time as good as the first"

I returned to Villa Marika at the end of October beginning of November for nine days.
Having already visited in March of this year I was delighted to be able to return to this wonderful villa with its superb views across the town of Cannes and the bay.
I was so impressed by my first visit and this made me keen to return. Just to reiterate, this is a spacious, comfortable, well appointed, clean villa a short drive from the Croisette and all the amenities Cannes has to offer.
Highly recommended.

Thanks for kind comments. I hope you will enjoy just as much your every visit to villa Marika.

Thanks, come again! By the way, it's Cannes not Nice, but that's a small detail as long as you had a happy stay....

"Idllyic location with views over Cannes"

A really great place to spend a vacation in the beautiful town of Cannes. The villa is ideally situated, with superb views across the town and out to sea. A quiet area, the villa is in its own interesting gardens of citrus trees, palms and flowers. Well appointed with two large bedrooms each with large picture windows. Furnished to a good standard it made an ideal holiday home - Would ( will) certainly return. Highly recommended

Thank you for your positive response. I would be delighted to welcome you again. I made some renovations recently that I am sure you will appreciate.

"A Postcard picture come true"

Waking up every day with a view of Cannes's port and the greenery of the house's garden was a real treat. I often explored the garden during the stay- so many levels so many citrus fruit. It is really a domestic jungle. My favourite pass time was reading my book on the veranda during the sunny days.
The landlord left us with a detailed itinerary of where to eat in Cannes and which surrounding villages to visit. There is a great supermarket in the nearby village that has great oysters. In the evenings we would sit in the living room with a view of Cannes and the bay eating delicious oysters. The rooms are comfortable and the house overall is very welcoming. In an area known for its luxury and rocket high prices Villa Marika was a great find!

Thank you for your great review. I hope we'll see you again.
