The Madeira region
Madeira is an island with a big diversity of landscape and plenty of activities for almost evey body who visits this wonderful place on earth. By the sea there is obviously the beaches spread all over the island and the wild sea live to watch in one of the many boat trips organised by the local companies. You will be able to see dolphins, whales, turtles, etc. It is also by the sea level that the temperatures in the island are more mild. It is that Madeira has the second best mild climate in the whole world.The Madeira Archipelago situated in the Atlantic Ocean, is a true divers' paradise.Its mild climate favours diving all year round, complemented by excellent visibility and average water temperatures of around 19º C in winter and 25º C in summer. In the mountains there is a wide choice of activities to do while you are in holidays. One can walk in the unspoilt land through the famous Levada walks, you can explore the island in off road expeditions or simply take of the organised sightseeing tours around the highlights of Madeira if it is your first visit to the island. Throughout the whole year there is always events happening, specially in Funchal capital. We have the Carnival festival, Flower festival, in June the fireworks festival, the wine festival and the best of all is Christmas season with the most well known fireworks display in the whole world. Besides all this reasons to visit us, there is amazing gardens, cable car journey, toboggan ride, picturesque old town, farmers market, wine lodges, embroidery factories, etc. You are very welcome to come and visit us.
Canico / Canico de Baixo area
Caniço de Baixo is the sort of place where you will find peace of mind. The sea and the beach are very close to you all the time, so you can swim whenever you feel like it or just seat down in one of the bars by the sea having a drink and admire the beautiful landscape surrounding you. There is an excellent bus timetable to and from Funchal city, in the case that you do not wish to drive in your holidays. The hotels nearby offer a program of entertainment in the evenings and they welcome visitors The waters of the Garajau Natural Marine Park are a big pull for visitors looking to sample some scuba diving and diving on Madeira.The best of the scuba diving is around Canico de Baixo, and a choice of scuba diving companies hire out equipment, give scuba diving lessons, and organise excursions. The golf courses are within less than 30 minutes driving from the apartment. In the case that you wish to walk in the famous Levadas, there are some in the area.
How to get there
Transfer to and from the airport is arranged by us. Once you have cleared customs & collected your luggage, you will be met by your driver in the arrivals hall. Payment can be made direct to the driver. The charge is €20.00 each way.
