Home description

Staying here you have the best of both worlds as commercial development has been slower than for the rest of Candolim. There are open fields and some woodland beyond the villas and you can get addicted to trying to identify the numerous birds that can be seen there. However, turn to the right at the main road and within 2 minutes you come to a parade of shops with a cafe selling delicious cappuccinos and lattes and shops selling a range of wonderful furnishings and clothes you immediately want to take home! There are also many restaurants within walking distance and you can easily try a different one every night of your holiday.
This property is ideal for families or groups of friends who are looking to enjoy an idylic location complete with fantastic tropical wildlife. Birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts will be in their element.

The Goa region

Goa, on the west coast of India, has over 100 Kilometres of coastline divided between secluded bays and golden sandy beaches lapped by the warm Arabian sea. Between October and April there is unbroken sunshine with temperatures that rarely drop below 91F. The pace of life is relaxed. You can spend your evenings enjoying a sunset walk along the beach or a stroll through the street markets in safety.

Although most people come to Goa to relax and unwind there is more to Goa than just its fabulous beaches. Here are a few ideas of what Goa has to offer.

The Portuguese colonised Goa for 450 years and this unique blend of Portuguese and Indian culture is evident in its architecture, mix of religions, cuisine and social structure. There are the colonial old quarters, the magnificent Mansion Houses built at the height of the Portuguese rule and Old Goa, the old capital, built as a testament to the Portuguese wealth and power. There are wildlife sanctuaries, over 400 different species of birds, market towns, a famous flea market which attracts sellers from all over India, designer shops and why not come at Christmas and the Easter Carnival and enjoy some real Goan-style dances. The exuberant Hindu festivals of Divali and Holi are celebrated with as much enthusiasm by this multi-cultural and well-integrated society.

We want to show people that there are many interesting "things to see". Above all experience Goa by being out and about. Early morning and late afternoon are perfect times for catching that magical rural scene of bullock cart and driver ambling along country lanes or the water buffaloes having their well deserved mud baths. Watch the sun rise over the river Sal, stand at Chapora harbour and select fish for that evening's meal, fresh from the boats, go to a village festival or Zatra and most of all, meet the people who are fun loving, generous and genuinely want you to have a great holiday.

Candolim / Bamon Vaddo area

Candolim village gives its name to the magnificent stretch of golden sand beach on which it is situated. The beach here is wide and sandy not crowded even at peak times and perfect for lazing away your days under a sunshade. The area is well connected by bus and there are plenty of taxis, although in the village itself you will find everything you need. From the vegetable and fish market, small supermarkets, ice cream parlour and the colourful shops selling jewellery clothes and trinkets, everything is on hand. There are restaurants to suit every taste from Tandoori, Chinese, Continental, Goan and North Indian and many have live music.

The Davidsons
A little oasis, quite splendid to see. Had a really good holiday, could not ask for more. The Goan people are lovely with nice smiling faces, will come here again and visit more places.

Sweet Mango and Goa have been everything we needed for a truly relaxing holiday. Best of both worlds, busy and exciting plus calm and tranquil. Hire a scooter…. It is a must and the best way to travel….
Whatever you do, enjoy because it is difficult not too…

A lovely villa and grounds beautifully kept by all staff. We will be back but will try South Goa. Been in the North twice with Lazydays and strongly recommend them.

Easter 2007

Dev, Rani, Serena, Reuben Avtar & Resham
Three generations of our family (including Serena (7) and Reuben (4) arrived here from Midlands and have had the most amazing holiday.

The accommodation is fabulous even the short power cuts were fun - the children enjoyed the novelty. Air-conditioning is particularly welcome. The swimming pool is fabulous and was always empty when we wanted to use it. The kids swimming has improved hugely.
It was brilliant to experience all that Goa has to offer from its people, to the roads, shops, shacks, restaurants, etc. The food in particular is amazing and so cheap.
We would recommend After Seven and Fiesta for a special meal in great surroundings.
Would definitely recommend and hopefully use Lazydays again.

We came in force from the British Isles
to ‘Sweet Mango’ in Goa, we traveled some miles.

A little oasis, quite splendid to see
Rosemary, Jo, John, Billy and Me.

The house maid ‘Suchana’ has kept the place clean,
pleasant and smiling, a pleasure to be seen.

The beds are too hard for our old aching bones,
we need toppers and comfort like we have in our homes.

We went to the spice farm, had lunch in the shade,
tried the fenni yuk! Awful, from cashew nuts it’s made.

We’ve seen elephants and Dolphins had good meals by the score had a really good holiday could not ask for more.

The Goan people are lovely with nice smiling faces
will come here again and visit more places.
Wonderful holiday.
