The Murcia region
The Costa Calida is a beautiful coastal region situated in South West Spain, An hour and a quarter from Alicante and 45 minutes from Murcia airport. This resort has bountiful amenities boasting various high quality golf courses, several P.A.D.I registered diving centres, far stretching clean beaches, several of which are located in quite secluded coves, and a whole host of shops, bars and restaurants.
The area is steeped in history, influenced by Roman and Moorish occupation with several important ruins, old buildings and museums to be found especially in the town of Cartegna which is also Spain's main Mediterranean naval port.
The Bay of Mazarron is a gulf that extends from Cabo Tinoso to Cabo Cope. A coastline that is rich in diversity, where you can find an abundance of breathtaking forms of excavations or erosions carving out almost 40 beaches.
Mazarrons proximity to the mediterranean, excellent climate and it's silver and lead mines have been the main causes for its early foundation.
To appreciate the area, all you just have to do is enjoy the climate, sample the varied gastronomy and feel at leisure in a Mediterranean enclave with the special charm of the southeast of Spain
The annual average temperature of 20°C and more than 300 sunny days a yearmakes the Bay of Mazarron a real paradise.

The Bay of Mazarron has more than 35 kilometres of coastline, along which you can find an array of beaches that stand out for the diversity of their waters, sands and sceneries.
In the southeast of the municipality, from Punsa de Calnegre to the Percheles beach, the sand becomes more of a common sight. At Punta Negra, you can contemplate inhospitable coves and surrounded by beautiful cliffs, which contrast with the vast beach of Bolnuevo.
Tracing the coastline towards the east, past the mouth of Ramble de las Moreras, the tourist area begins, castellan beach, Nares beach, Reya Beach, La Isla beach, etc, till the Port’s bay, where thanks to the evenness of the coast, the town centre was established.
There are beaches along the coast till reaching El Alamillo and, before getting to Isla Plana, the dry watercourse of Valdelentisco marks the end of Mazarrons coastline.
About 50% of the Municipality’s attraction is underwater, where the Mediterranean safeguards its best secrets all along the extensive coastline of the Bay of Mazarron. In its waters, you can find one of the most important ecosystems of the Mediterranean, the land of Poseidon. It possess important marine vegetation where you can find sea bass, lobster, conger eel, dolphins, whales, octopus and morays.
For divers, many decades of shipwrecks lie beneath the sea, providing evidence of how the region has had to fight to protect its many assets.
The water offers the chance to practice canoeing, fishing, sailing, windsurfing and ski jet riding. Once on land, you can take the routes on bicycles, motorbikes, horse riding and hiking.
The Camposol Golf Club complex is nestling in a valley of the foothills of the Sierra Espuna mountains, which is located just 10 minutes drive away from the beautiful beaches and coastal town of Puerto de Mazarron.

"Great, inexpensive getaway."
We have just returned from a great week at Rosa. I must say firstly that I have no idea what the previous reviewer meant by the lack of cleanliness (our sheets etc were fine), the odd towels (ours at … More

"Lovely villa spoilt by contents not clean!"
We have stayed at many villas before on Camposol. This must be the worst one for bedding! The pillows were stained dirty brown and yellow, they didn't look as if they had ever been laundered. The sheets were not big enough for the double bed ( I think one was a single sheet) and they really looked like old ones.
All the towels were just left in a linen basket in the bathroom and were not neatly folded how I would expect to find them. Most were all odd towels! Nothing matching! I also had to clean both toilets before we used them.
We found clean mugs in the kitchen cupboard as the mugs on the mug tree were all left stained and dirty.
The outside chairs all need replacing as they all had deteriorated, my husband fell through one!!
What a pity as this is a lovely villa, by just updating all the bedding, towels, outside chairs and making sure the villa is spotless would have made such a difference to our stay.
Another small point I have to mention is the busy road we just couldn't get used to it. Even though the villa is just off the main avenue where most of the traffic is you could hear the noise first thing in the morning and at night.
We appreciate that after a couple of busy seasons the linen, towels and outside furniture where a little tired and have now replaced all the linen and outside furniture in the villa with new.
With regard the road outside the villa we are personally not of the impression that it is particularly busy and it is not something that has been mentioned previously by any other guest.
