A little about location:
The property is situated a 5 minute drive or so from the village of Poggio, say 1 hour north of Lucca.
Poggio itself is an historic village situated in the hills, some 10 minutes north of Castelnuovo which has all facilities including bars and restaurants (9kms ). This is a quaint historic village with cobbled streets and wonderful views. Here there is a bar and basic shop and a train station for easy exploring.
Camporgiano 4km away from the property, has a couple of restaurants and bars, an inhabited castle, supermarket, and small Monday morning market.
Castelnuovo, the local market town is a 15 minute drive away, and the mediaeval town of Barga is a circa 30 minute drive. Take a trip to Pisa in 90 mins and Florence in under 2 hours...
The real beauty of the area though is its proximity to two important Protected National Parks, the surrounding mountains and the hundreds of hill top villages where it seems that time has stood still
