The West Country / Cornwall region
FABULOUS FOOD With names such as Rick Stein and Jamie Oliver now tied to the county, it isn’t hard to see why Cornwall is developing international renown when it comes to great food. And it’s not only the traditional seafood that attracts connoisseurs. Cornwall boasts numerous must-try pubs and restaurants, see Eating Out for just some of the many we would like to recommend.
ACTIVITIES FOR ALL The fantastic quality of Cornwall is that there is something here that will appeal to everyone, whatever their interests or age. Water sports are the obvious pull for the adventurous, and away from the beach there are copious opportunities for golf, tennis, pitch and putt, fishing, riding and much more. Whether you want an adrenaline rush or a quiet walk, there are activities here to suit you.
CORNISH ATTRACTIONS Cornwall is a feast for the senses. With a climate that encourages highly unusual trees and plant life, the county boasts an array of original and beautiful gardens. In contrast with this lush, almost tropical element, Cornwall is also wonderfully rugged, with ancient stone circles and tin mines that carry you back many centuries.
Tintagel - the legendary site of King Arthur's Castle - and the picturesque harbours of Boscastle and Port Isaac are within easy reach of Juliot's Well.
No visit to Cornwall is complete without a trip to The Eden Project and Land's End.
Camelford area
Wedged between the moors and the spectacular coastline Juliot's Well is a mile from the ancient town of Camelford - once part of a medieval trading route - and four miles from the beach of Trebarwith with its dramatic cliffs, dark caves, rock pools and fine sands.
Guests are welcome at the Bowood Golf Club(par 72, 6792 yards) adjacent to Juliot's Well Holiday Park.
There are organised walks in and around the local area as well as cross country hikes and coastal walks for the more adventurous visitors. Details are available from Juliot's Well reception who can also help you with pony trekking, cycling, windsurfing and abseiling.
The ancient town of Camelford is situated one mile away. The nearest beach is at Trebarwith around four miles away. Tintagel - the legendary site of King Arthur`s Castle and the picturesque harbours of Boscastle and Port Issac are within easy reach, together with Wadebridge, Bodmin Moor and its Jamaica Inn, made famous by Daphne du Maurier.
