Bells apartments Studio

Excellent 5/5 Score from 7 reviews

39 castle Street: Bells Apartments. Grade II listed building.

Studio | No Bedrooms | sleeps 2

Key Info
  • Great for children of all ages
  • Car not necessary
  • No pets allowed

Charming, genuinely central flat in a Grade II listed building. It is quite large and has a good separate kitchen. Sensitively restored to high standards. There are two single beds and a double sofa bed. The flat can fit a family of 4 at a pinch and there is a nominal surcharge for that. Just 5-10 minutes' walk to the absolute centre where all the main shops, market square and most interesting coleges like Kings, Trinity,, St Johns are. In fact the back of St Johns is just around the corner.

All facilities available. Wi-fi, TV, DVD, Radio, CD, Washing, Drying, ironing, Cooker and microwave, hairdryer and US: we live 50m away should you need anything like extra towels, help seeing a local doctor, etc.

This flat is especially good for those who require a reasonably longish stay in order to research for a book or to visit relatives (many from "Down-Under" stay with us). It is the least expensive way to visit Cambridge and be really, really central!

All the best pubs and restaurants are nearby; and you can walk to Sainsburys, M&S, The market, get your picnic supplies and walk to "The Backs", eat by the river, feed the ducks and watch the punts go by! (Have cameras ready).

"Fantastic Place to Stay in Cambridge"

Tony was great to deal with and made sure that we had our parking permit sorted and correctly parked as soon as we arrived. "Whatever you want, let me know and I'll get it for you" was… More

"Very kind host and good location"

I spend there one week with a two years old son. It is an studio with two single beds and a full kitchen. The host,Toni, is very kind. He lives just one block from the apartments and he is always willing to help with everything. The apartment has a washing -drying machine which was very convenient. The location is good, 15 minutes walking to the main part of the centre and there are several pubs, restaurants and the river in the same street. Maybe the only drawback is the shower, it is small and the pressure of the water is low. In general, I fully recommend this place.

Thank you! Shower power is now sorted.

"Loved staying here."

A very warm welcome form the owner, who gave a full guided tour of the studio, which is comfortable and very well equipped. The location is brilliant - everything we needed was within easy walking distance - shops, restaurants, colleges, the river and (our favourite) Kettles Yard, is almost next door.
We loved being able to spend the day in the city and to have such a comfortable 'home' to come back to.

Thank you very much!

"Bright Studio, Convenient Location"

My wife and I stayed at the Bells Apartment studio for a week in early April. The owner, Mr. Loizou, lives very nearby and and is available for assistance if needed. He clearly keeps this studio in tip top shape. The studio is roomy, bright, and very clean and tidy. The two beds were comfortable, with nice comforters. Although a studio, it has a small separate kitchen which had everything we needed for the week, including a coffee maker. It even had kitchen soap and new sponges for washing up. It has a small bathroom, with plenty of good towels, and a heated towel rack--which my wife and I loved. The studio has a flat screen TV, clock radio and a CD player. It is also well heated, which was appreciated when the nights turned very cool for the week. It also has several nice pubs, restaurants, and coffee shops in the immediate vicinity, is very convenient to the bus route to Histon/Cottingham, and only 10-15 minute walk into the center of Cambridge. We highly recommend the Bells studio for anyone looking for a reasonably priced studio for a holiday in Cambridge.

Thank you!

"A lovely place to stay"

This is a really nice place to stay. It's so near to the town center and the Cam, it only takes about five minutes by foot. The rooms are very nice and clean, and the manager is lovely. I can recommend this flat to anyone wanting to stay in Cambridge for a few days.

Thank you. Nice having you.

"Perfect location for enjoying and exploring Cambridge"

1. Location. The location of the apartment COULD NOT BE BETTER. Everything of interest is within walking distance. You feel like you are living in the historic centre of Cambridge. It is literally 2 minutes walk to the River Cam and Magdalene College and St John's College. It is only 1 minute walk from Kettle's Yard Art Gallery and it's collection of Gaudier-Brzeska sculpture.

2. The apartment. The apartment is clean and comfortable. The beds are modern and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom is clean and functional. There is wi-fi which worked perfectly and there is a private (shared) entrance. Clean towels every day and the parking facilities were a huge advantage.

3. Overall summary. This apartment is absolutley ideal for exploring Cambridge. It is perfectly located and has all the facilities you need and would expect. The owner is very friendly and knowledgable about the city and it's history. He is a real Cambridge enthusiast. He seems genuinely concerned that everything about your stay is to your satisfaction. I have recommended the apartment to friends and family."

Thank you! See you again I hope.
