The East Sussex region
It is no exageration to state that the local region contains something for everyone!
The coastline speaks for itself, with the huge Camber Sands literally at your doorstep. There are plenty of interesting coastal towns to explore within a short drive or bus ride away. The picturesque town of Rye is the closest - just a ten minute drive away. It's ancient medieval streets contain an impressive number of inspiring shops (antiques in particular), cafes and restaurants.
For the explorers, miniature railway, farms, and castles are to name but a few of the day trips that could comfortably be reached from the property. The shingle expanse & extraordinary landscape of Dungeness must also be seen.
Favourite Camber Venues:
1. The beach never fails to thrill no matter how many times you go over the top...
2. 'The Gallivant' restaurant: Award-winning seaside brasserie specialising in local, organic
food, with stylish decor & ambiance, and occasional live music.
3. Pie and Mash at the Rye Bay Café (which also has free WiFi)
4. The friendly Green Owl Pub, Old Lydd Road.
5. Rye Watersports School & Café – New Lydd Road, after the golf club.
6. Cycling: The area is also popular with cyclists, with many established picturesque routes on offer.
Favourite Rye Venues:
1. The George Inn: Perfect place for a roast dinner and a pint in front of an open fire.
2. Rye Bay Fish Shop: Our friendly local fishmonger has a great selection of reasonably
priced fresh local fish. Open 8-5pm daily (7 days/week). Rye Bay Fish is on the left,
just after you cross the bridge into Rye on the A259. Free parking.
3. The Mermaid Inn: One of England’s oldest pubs - frequented by smugglers and
French invaders over the centuries. Food available at the bar or in the restaurant.
4. The Rye Retreat: 'Aveda' salon - a great place to be pampered, de-stressed and
5. Webbes at The Fish Cafe: Delicious lunches/dinners. Child friendly, with seating in
either the 'Cafe' or 'Restaurant'.
6. Rye Farmers Market: Every Wednesday from 10 - 1pm @ Strand Quay

"Just perfect. When can we come back?"
We had a wonderful half term stay at Rye Bay Beach House. Superb location, (easy drive from London), perfectly equipped and furnished, very comfortable beds! Great showers, easy car parking, great restaurants and beautiful walks into medieval gem, Rye. The house is just steps from the beautiful Cambersands; the kids had a ball; when they weren't swimming, flying kites or jumping around in the dunes, they entertained themselves in the perfectly kitted out games room situated on the ground floor of the house. Wonderful to end the days with a glass of wine or two on the balcony in the evening sun! Nice touch with a little hamper of local products to welcome you on arrival. Rebecca and Kuros have given a great deal of thought to their lovely house. Thankyou; we will definitely book with you again.

"Delightful property in an excellent position"
Recently returned from a lovely week's stay at Rye Bay Beach House in (and practically on!) Camber Sands. On arrival, we were very kindly left a welcome pack of locally made scones with clotted cream and jam (yummy!), together with milk, apple juice etc - a nice touch and very much appreciated! The house is very homely, has everything you would need including amazingly comfortable beds with top quality linen - making it very difficult to get out of in the mornings!!! The only item we did miss, and this was probably noticed more due to the fact we had to get dressed up to attend a wedding in Camber, was a full length mirror, but this was the only item we did miss in an otherwise perfect stay!

"Brilliant weekend retreat right next to a beautiful beach"
The modern designer feel of the house proves an ideal base from which to explore Rye and Camber Sands. The bed and bedroom were a real treat and the kitchen area had everything you could need. Table tennis downstairs was certainly our highlight. Must also recommend hiring a kite on the beach even if you've never done it before.

The location was excellent just across the road from the beach, the down fall was the garden room ,the sofa bed was quite hard , the room was dark, and there was nowhere to put clothes. There was every thing you would need in the flat and more , but maybe a few new deck chairs
Thank you for the review. We aim to please & hate to disappoint so these points shall be taken onboard & acted upon immediately. We've not received a complaint in 4 years regarding the mattress, or the dark. Infact, this is a welcomed cool room come summer months and is bright & airy on a typical day. There is a dedicated wardrobe opposite the adjacent shower room. We shall make this more explicit in the house information pack. That leave the mattress. I'm off to the shops...

"Chilling out in Camber"
Great location, just behind the dunes on one of the best beaches in the country and there is a friendly local pub, The Green Owl, just up the road. The house is clean, modern, tastefully decorated, well stocked with beach equipment, games and DVDs. We enjoyed meals and drinks out on the terrace in the sunshine and strolls along the beach in the evenings. The house was a great base to explore the local area - a short drive into Rye, Winchelsea and not far from Hastings and Battle. Overall, I couldn't fault it.

"Lovely house, Great Location and excellent value for money."
This is a real find - so close to the dunes and beach and really designed and set out with families in mind. On arrival we found the house to be clean and tidy, with a surprise few basics (a fresh loaf of bread, biscuits tea and jam) which we tucked into straight away. The house is modern design, beautifully light and airy with plenty of space for kids to play. Showers (3 of them!) were powerful and plenty of hot water for my family of 5. Good quality TVs in each room and good wifi reception throughout. Table tennis in the playroom was a real bonus on the one wet day we had - kids played for hours!! We tried some of the recommendations and all were pretty good, although Rye Bay Cafe service is a bit slow (but very friendly)...
