Enter through the naya (sun room) with table and chairs, and pass into the lounge, furnished with 2 comfortable sofas and equipped with satellite LCD tv, video player and radio.

The dining room is through an arched opening and seats 4 in comfort. There is a serving bar into the kitchen which is fully equipped with gas cooker and electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, sandwich toaster, juicer and all the choices of cutlery, crockery and bits and pieces every home needs.

There is a full bathroom with over-bath shower, wc and bidet, and a separate wc entered from outside to save those wet footprints from the poolside.

Strictly non-smoking. Central heating by arrangement out of season.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

Calpe has excellent shops and supermarkets with a wealth of restaurants of all kinds. Although we have some favourites, we always say there are no bad restaurants: the competition is too strong for all but the best to survive. Even so, do explore the fishing port area at the side of rock. If you enjoy seafood, you will not find better.

The local morning street markets are excellent for fresh fruit, cooked meats, cheeses, vegetables and flowers. Be prepared to bargain for clothes, watches and a wide range of goods and you will do very well.

Calpe is ideally placed for exploring the Spanish countryside. The Jalon valley runs inland behind Calpe and is the local wine-producing area. There are several bodegas where you can sample the wines of the region. It has excellent pavement cafes, superb restaurants and high-class craft shops.

Drive on through the Jalon to find towns and villages at every turn and views to remember.

take the next valley south to Callosa, through hundreds of acres of citrus groves, and you will find the Fonts del Algar, which you may remember from a hair shampoo advert. You can walk beside (and even bathe in) a series of crystal clear lagoons and waterfalls.

Follow the valley to Guadalest where an amazing castle sits on the pinnacles of a mountain. It is accessible only through a tunnel in the rock face. Flat space is so much at a premium that the church and its bell tower are on different peaks.

Nearby is The Ark, a charitable rescue centre for lions and other exotic animals supported by Queen Sophia.

The Calpe / Shangrila, La Vallesa II area

Shangrila is a small residential community with 2 blocks of duplex bungalows and a few villas. Although only a short drive from the centre of Calpe and its magnificent "talcum powder beaches" (Daily Telegraph), it is on a private road with no through traffic.

As well as our own pool, which is 4 metres by 8 metres, the community pool is available to guests and has a separate shallow children's area. It is a few hundred yards away and is ideal for meeting other residents and their children.

The villa is 1.5km from Blue Flag beaches. Calpe's seafront is unique in being totally traffic-free. Families stroll in complete safety along the beautifully tiled promenade, which is lined with bars, shops and restaurants. The nearest road is hundreds of metres inland. “A wonderful Holiday in a great villa” Both my husband and I and the two friends we went on holiday with had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in Villa Cassandra. We know and love Calpe where the Villa is situated on a very nice quiet urbanisation, just a five minutes drive to the fantastic Levante beach, one of two main beaches in Calpe. The villa is enclosed by hedges, giving a feeling of privacy. The villa was immaculately clean and very well equiped, with good quality furnishings. We were spoilt for choice when it came to eating in at the villa with a dining table in the living area, one in the naya and two outside by the pool. The pool was a real bonus in the unusually hot September weather, and we had tremendous fun in it ! It was really nice to sit out by the pool under the shade of the awning to eat our breakfast, and then up on the terrace for our pre dinner drinks in the evenings. We would reccomend Villa Cassandra to anyone wanting good quality accomodation in a peaceful setting, but within easy reach of the town. We always hire a car as we like to get around and explore, but for non drivers there is a bus into town which stops around the corner. Response: Thank you. So wonderful for our efforts to be appreciated, especially by a committed Calpina! No rest for the wicked, though, I am spending 3 weeks at the villa on end of season maintenance to keep up that standard.

“Home from home and more” We had the most fabulous break at the villa. The cleanliness and welcoming pack when we arrived was encouraging, but the pool was spectular. The pool was fantastic, our son was in it every day no matter what the time was. As the weather was very hot it was nice to relax and swim and go out in the late afternoon. We had everything we needed at the villa and were loath to go out and do the "tourist" thing but glad we did. The beaches at Calpe were very clean, the harbour has a great atmosphere and we went on a boat trip that included a look at the sea bed - this was fantastic. Guadalest is a beautiful place which I would recommend you visit. Nothing was too much trouble for Brian, the owner. When I told him my husband has limited mobility, he found out the details of a mobility shop for us in the event we might need it. The service from Brian was outstanding and the villa was by far the best we have stayed at. This was the first holiday we came home from and felt as if we have had a REAL break. Response: We are always delighted to hear that clients have enjoyed their holidays, but this review is particularly heart-warming. Families work very hard all year to earn their holidays so we always try to make sure we give full value & that little extra if we can. With many thanks to a charming family.

“Fantastic villa highly recommended.” Just returned from a 2 week stay at Villa Cassandra and loved every minute of it. A very quiet location, which was exactly what we wanted. Loved the pool, husband loved the wi-fi. We hired a car, glad that we did as we were able to explore the local area. Would recommend a visit to the Fountains of Algar, Altea and Denia. “Everything we needed in a great villa” Stayed here for a week with our young son. It was the perfect size for us and the outside areas were perfect, lots of space to relax by the pool in the day and have great BBQs in the evening. The pool was perfect and just the right size for lounging on some lilos! Located in a great spot, make sure you go up to the roof terrace to check out the fantastic views. Will definitely visit again Response: Everything we hope for is for families to enjoy their hard-earned holidays. Hoping we do hear from you again.

“beautiful villa” We stayed at villa Cassandra for one week in July. The villa is well equiped with every thing you may need, even had wine, water and biscuits on our arrival which was very useful since we arrived at midnight. Be prepared for a 100 euro taxi payment if you haven't hired a car and as Brian suggests a car is really required as the villa is in a quiet residential area away from the town. The outside garden area is very private with loads of space around to spread out. The pool is fab, every bit as lovely as the photos suggest. There is a built in barbeque which is ideal for the warm evenings, try the huge range of local fish it's inexpensive and delicious. The only comment we would say that the villa lacked was air con as sometimes sleeping was difficult . Calpe is a lovely area and there is so much to explore. Brian left in the villa detailed directions for a cliff walk which we did and were not disappointed, it was glorious! Response: Unfortunately these clients did not pre-book with our recommended Calpe taxi driver who offers our clients an all-in rate of €85. Our contact (a former British police officer) is the only British registered taxi driver in Calpe & is fully legal & insured. “The most relaxing holiday we've had” Having chosen blindly from an internet site, swayed by the lovely picture of the property, and having visited Calpe as separate individuals some years ago, we were delighted with the villa, especially the beautiful private pool and patio areas. The quiet location, in a residential area, added to the all round enjoyment of our break. The main 'touristy' sea front area of Playa Fosse was a gentle and enjoyable walk away with its many bars & restaurants. A car is essential, particularly for the stocking up of supplies and visiting local beaches and other areas within easy driving, such as the mountain village of Guadalest, about 45 minutes by car. The main airport at Alicante is also around 50 minutes drive, along the main well signed motorway.

“Had a great stay, would dfinitelly come back!” Wonderful house, spacious, clean, loved the swimming pool and making barbecue in own yard. Recommend 100%! “'Just what it said on the ad'” We really enjoyed our stay at this villa - the facilities and services were super, the directions from the airport were spot on and the location was just right to mix 'stay at home' relaxation with 'out and about' sight-seeing. We even managed to combine family holiday fun with teenage exam revision, thanks to the reliable WIFI access. Response: Very gratifying comments, thank you. But nowhere is perfect, we try to add something new each year.

“Family Holiday Heaven” We had a wonderful week long holiday at Villa Cassandra. The service from the owner, Brian, was excellent, he ensured that everything went through like clockwork and he also gave us some great pointers for restaurants and places of interest to visit. The Villa is lovely, quiet, spacious, cool and very clean, the pool was fantastic for parents and kids alike! There are some restaurants and bars within a 10 - 15 min walk and many more within a short taxi or bus ride into town, hiring a car though really makes the holiday as there are so many great places to visit in the area. We loved Calpe and the surrounding area so much we are returning again this year, we can heartily recommend Villa Cassandra to anyone considering a holiday in Calpe. Had a lovely holiday renewing memories of Calpe. Loved your villa & were able to fully relax.
The excellent location with its private pool and all of the accessories, were a totally unexpected and delightful surprise. Although we had both visited Calpe many years ago independently, we thoroughly enjoyed our most recent visit and our stay at your villa.

We had a really super stay! The outside space is second to none (and we've stayed in many villas in Costa Blanca area).

We can totally relax in/around the pool and the kids love it! Restaurants in the old town/craft market are both lovely.

We have had a superb week in your lovely villa. The pool was the best we have had at any of the villas we have hired. The privacy and location were excellent and it had a very homely feeling. The broadband worked well.

It is our first time to Calpe it will certainly not be our last. The location & setting of your villa is brilliant. We have stayed in many villas around Europe but this is one of the finest.

We have returned from Calpe after a most enjoyable week. Villa Cassandra was delightful and suited our needs most admirably. So much so that we hope to return to the villa at some point. We enjoyed many of the places you recommended especially the Peter Pan coffee house!

Once again we had a wonderful time, everything was just perfect.

What a great place you have, it felt like a real home from home and the view from the roof terrace is fantastic.
