Calpe nestles next to the Rock of Ifach, a spectacular rock formation standing in a nature reserve of the same name and offering unique panoramas over the Alicante coastline. Calpe itself is a village steeped in maritime traditions and blessed with an extensive coast featuring fine, golden sand.
Calpe is an exclusive resort and many Spanish like to visit, this makes the resort very Spanish-speaking, even though many British tourists come here.
Things to Do
Our Calpe villas are close to many interesting sites and activities. If you are in shape and feeling fit it is highly recommended to hike to the top of the Peñon de Ifach.There are salt lakes at the foot of Peñon de Ifach. These formerly Roman salt plants are now the habitat for birds like flamingoes.
Calpe´s beach line consists of wide sandy beaches and small coves divided by cliffs. The most popular beaches are Arenal-Bol , La Fossa and La Calalga.
Besides a wide range of bars and restaurants the beachfront offers all types of water sports activities like scuba diving, windsurfing, water-skiing and sailing in the Calpe Nautical Club.
This place is perfect for scuba diving due to its clear waters. Trips to dive points from the Puerto Blanco diving centre. Around the Peñon de Ifach you will see morayeels, sea cat, barracuda and octopus. Glass bottomed boat trips are available if diving is not your thing!
Benidorm is just a 30 minute drive from Calpe, it is home to many great attractions, such as:
Mundomar, www.mundomar.es/gbmundomar/sphome.asp a marine and exotic animal park. Aqualandia, www.aqualandia.net a water park with over 20 rides.
Terra Mitica, www.terramiticapark.com, this is a huge attraction park with a vast range of roller coasters and waterslides.
Benidorm Palace, www.benidorm-palace.com, A magnificent, spectacular, gloriously colourful, BIG show of international renown.
Benidorm Centre – The centre of benidorm is full of shops, bars, restaurants and nightclubs. There are a range of shops for daytime shopping and an amazing nightlife. Benidorm's two beaches, the playa de poniente and the playa de levante are about 5 km long in total. Along most of the Playa de Poniente Beach, a main Benidorm road with heavy traffic passes by. So, if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing bath under Benidorm's sun, you should go for the Playa de Levante. There is a huge market in Benidorm on Wednesday and Sunday morning.
If you do not want to hire a car, then this is a very good way to explore the surrounding areas of Calpe. There is a bus company which offers national and international long-distance transport, regional transport, city transport, private and tourist transport, http://www.alsa.es/VentaParticulares/contenidoHorarios.jsp . Further details indoors: The accommodation in this spacious luxury villa is on three levels. Access is through solid wooded door to a lovely welcoming hallway which leads to a large sitting room / dining room where there are a number of comfortable settees and chairs, an enclosed fireplace, sideboard and coffee table. Entertainment is provided here by way of a Digital Satellite TV, DVD player and stereo system. Large pillars separate the living room from a large fully fitted breakfast kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, microwave oven, fridge freezer, electric oven and ceramic hob. Also on this level there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a separate Guest Cloak room. From the hallway, stairs lead up to the first floor landing giving access to two twin bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms and two further twin bedrooms sharing a separate shower room. Three of the bedrooms on this level have balconies. All the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and high quality, comfortable beds and furnishings. Stairs from the first floor level lead to the roof top solarium which offers wonderful views of the coast including the Peñon rock of Calpe. It is an ideal sun trap and place to sunbath in total privacy. A small utility room with washing machine is also located on this level. The villa has air conditioning / heating available in all the bedrooms and main living areas. It is well equipped and furnished to a high standard throughout making it ideal for our most discerning clients.
Further details outdoors: Outside, from the covered terrace, steps lead down to a spacious sun terrace and the feature 10m x 4.5m swimming pool, which benefits from roman steps and has a poolside shower. Patio furniture and a brick built BBQ are provided to enjoy ‘Alfresco’ dining. Sun beds and parasols are provided for basking in the warm sunshine. A unique and rather special feature of this villa is its full size private tennis court. Set in the grounds to one side of the house, you can enjoy as many games as you wish without interruption. The villa has mature, ornamental gardens with off road parking available for at least three cars.
