About this location
The Valenciana region
Weather in Calpe is mild (and well known for it) throughout the year, making it an ideal destination for holiday makers in summer and winter months. Both the town and surrounding areas are sheltered by hills and high mountains, allowing for a kind of micro climate. This limits rainfall, and as a result the region enjoys sunshine for more than 320 days per year. The sun is at its hottest during the summer months, with temperatures rarely falling below 30°C (86°F). Whereas typically very mild winters, boast averages of around 18°C (64°F).
This region (especially the southernmost part of the Costa) is famous for its salt lakes (salt is a major export). This has a major knock on effect on humidity levels, and as a result the air is much dryer than in other parts of Spain and Europe. The low humidity levels coupled with a mild climate, mean the WHO (World Health Organisation) have rated this part of Spain one of the healthiest climates on the planet.
Calpe the artists town. A port and a country town at the same time. An oasis in the most popular tourist region of the Costa Blanca. Calpe is the town of connoisseurs, the town chosen by the whole of Europe as its summer retreat. A privileged enclave beside the calm blue waters of the Mediterranean, where outstanding natural beauty, gastronomy, culture, the sea and the mountains are part of the everyday life of its inhabitants all year round. The Old Town is beginning to attract more and more visitors because it is becoming a very interesting part of the town.
There are Museums, picturesque little streets and squares and many bars and restaurants, most of them with a lively terrace, an ideal place to spend a pleasant summer evening.
Discover the Costa Blanca at all times of day, beside the sea or inland, enjoy its beaches and mountains, discover its festivals, art and traditions, get to know the cuisine.
With 11 kilometres of coastline, Calpe has twelve sandy beaches most with promenades and lots of bars, restaurants and shops. Calpe is on the Southeast coast of Spain, between Valencia and Alicante, about 15 miles north of Benidorm. Calpe is a beautiful holiday centre for those looking for a beautiful relaxing resort, with plenty to do and see. Calpe has two main very good, safe and sandy beaches. The two beaches are linked by a promenade approximately two miles long. Calpe has a wide choice of shops, and there is a large general open-air market on Saturday mornings.
There are many restaurants, which offer a variety of international menus and are well known for their quality and reasonable prices. Benidorm is about 20 minutes ride away for those seeking a more sophisticated night out. There is a regular bus service to Benidorm, Alicante and Valencia and a narrow gauge railway, which gives a scenic ride along the coast between Alicante and Denia. Terra Mitica is a new theme park suitable or all age groups 20 minutes drive away.

"Beautifully appointed villa in a peaceful location"
The Foxon's (owners) were very helpful, recommending car hire companies, airports etc. We hadn't been to Spain for a years, and appreciated their local knowledge. The welcome pack had lots o… More

Our family had a very good time at the villa. Its location is superb allowing both privacy/seclusion and easy and quick access to beaches/shopping/restaurants. You will need a car though, but in our experience even if stayed in the city zone, we would have taken a car anyway, it gives you so much more options. Among villa features I would mark out a very nice private pool, terrace with views, a well equipped and light kitchen, lots of trees and flowers around and barbecue place. We would love to come here again!
Thank you for the lovely review and comments, you are welcome to visit again anytime just give us a call!

"great base for the costa blanca"
We have stayed in the Calpe area many times and this villa is definitely in the top three, nice location, handy for the beaches and nightlife of Calpe or Moraira. Plenty of space for one large family or two family groups and a great layout with the poolside cooker / bar. Not the biggest pool but the slide makes up for that - hours of fun for all the kids.
thank you very much for the review of the property it is nice to hear our efforts are appreciated.

"A good base for a family holiday"
Had a lovely week in December. The weather was very good (low 20's on a couple of days). Spent time on the local beaches at Calpe (wide), Moraira (quite posh) and Javea (shops and childrens play areas). Plenty of food options a short drive away.
One highlight was seeing the professional cycling teams training (we saw BMC and Quickstep teas on several days, and a few other individuals who looked pretty professional).
Thanks for the review. We are really pleased you enjoyed the villa and surrounding area. We have altered the directions after your comments and they should be even easier to use. Hopefully see you next year!.
