The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region
Calpe sits close to the Rock of Ifach on a hill rising up from the last spurs of the Sierra Bernia, a geographical marvel that provides access to the northernmost towns of Alicante's Marina district. lt is an authentic tourist site, with a coastline boasting sandy beaches and cliff faces in some areas, also the salt sea give to the town a special flavour. Next to the seafront promenade are the remains of an ancient fish salting factory from Roman times.
Calpe's fishing port comes alive with hustle and bustle as the afternoon fish auction draws near. On the Restaurant terraces the customers have the possibility to try some of the fresh local fish and shellfish, all displayed on ice. Lobster and crayfish are specialities and at unbelieveable prices. The atmosphere is amazing with restaurantrs vying for your custom with a free glass of sangria and tapas. A real treat! In the old town centre are some points of interest to visit.
Trips of interest: Tour the quiet villages and ancient Moorish settlements in the hills of the interior of the province Alicante: Vall d'Ebo, Vall d'Alcalá, Vall de Gallinera, Vall de Laguart.

On the uppermost part of a mountain peak, with houses set into the rock, Guadalest overlooks a deep valley with a beautiful landscape. The 12th century village and its castle with a Medieval appeal are listed as an historic-artistic complex. Wander the Aladdin type shops through the cobbled streets and visit the tiniet of museums.

Visit the island of Tabarca , a real monument of nature and once a refuge for pirates and corsairs. This only habited island in the autonomous community of Valencia, can be visited by taking a boat from Santa Pola (20 minutes).

visit Benidorm, 20 mins drive: Themed areas and a waterpark. Terra Mitica: Terra Mitica is a theme park in the holiday resort of Benidorm, Spain. The park is divided into 5 themed zones; Egypt, Greece, Rome, Iberia (Old zone of Spain and Portugal) and the Islands (of Greece). In 2000 when the park opened its doors, Paramount bought most of the shares in Terra Mitica and so then the park was branded as Paramount Parks Terra Mitica. In 2004 after Paramount Parks decided to drop its shares they had in Terra Mitica, Comunitat Valenciana took over the park and will oversee future plans and the development of other rides

Free buses run from the Rincon near Mac Donalds. Check what dates firework displays are on. You get wet on some of the water rides and geiser waterfall.
