About the home

The area is generally qiuet, althogh noise and nightlife are found in Calpe itself, a 4 minute drive away.The villa is split into two self contained levels , (The ground floor is not let out.) it has 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin room. All bedrooms have shutters, mosquito nets and ceiling fans. It also boasts a totally new kitchen, refurbished bathroom with shower, spacious living/dining area as well as a superb naya. The naya has wonderful views of the sea and mountains and is where you can enjoy eating, sundowners and total relaxation whilst you bathe in the Mediterranean sun from early morning till late in the evening. The large roof terrace gives views of the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean and the Bernia mountains further inland.
The local sandy beach ( La Fustera) is safe, secure and secluded with a promenade, café and easy parking and is only a pleasant 250 metre stroll from your home in Spain.

The English owners of La Trompeta are sometimes on hand to offer any advise and help to make your stay more enjoyable. The lounge is fitted with Sat TV, DVD and CD player with numerous CDs and tapes as well as Wi-Fi internet access. There are also many books and games. All linen is provided including beach towels . All electricity, gas and cleaning is included in rental charge.

The pool area has its own shower and toilet facilites. The pool itself is 10x4.5 mts and is kidney shaped and depth ranges from 0.8 - 1.8 mts. Both charcoal and gas BBQs are available with wooden pub style garden furniture seating up to 10 people. Sun loungers and sun umbrellas are set around the pool. Ample parking is secure within the grounds.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

Within a 30-40 minute drive inland there are many interesting places to visit, such as Colossa d’en Sarria, the Fonts de Alga and Guadalest with its castle and museums and fantastic views over the vines, orange groves and almond trees.
Benidorm offers many fun parks, such as Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia and more, although for those of you that prefer the warmth and tranquillity of exploring Spain at an everyday level, there are many villages along the coast, such as Altea, Benissa, Moraira, Javea and Denia for you to visit, with their ancient buildings, medieval streets and street markets where you can buy all those presents you will be taking home to family and friends, as well as fabulous fresh fruit and vegetables.

The Calpe / La Fustera area

Our local sandy beach is safe, secure and secluded with a promenade, café and easy parking and is only a pleasant 250 metre stroll from your home in Spain. As are the bank, super market, Chinese restaurant and Spanish and 2English" bar/restuarants.The town of Calpe is only 3 kms. away and can provide you with not only modern shopping, a lively nightlife and truly international cuisine, but, relaxing cafes, marine adventures, such as sailing, diving and the spectacular submarine boat. A visit to the museums, church, castle and “Old Town” are interesting and very worthwhile.
Benidorm is about 30 minutes by car. train or bus.

At various times of the year there are spectacular fiestas and firework displays.

A hire car is usually best for most holidays for exploring and getting around at any time with complete freedom
Hire cars are on average £150 per week. PS. avoid the "oh we forgot, it is 60 Euro extra as the car has a full tank" . For over 20 years we have used rentacar giner. Very straightforward.
The roads are far less congested than the UK.
However buses from the airport run to Calpe with a few minutes connection in Benidorm,
There is also a private bus service which has to be pre-booked, called Beniconnect priced at 20 Euro which has a drop off point within 300 metres of the villa.

“Great location, comfortable villa, loved the private pool” We have just returned from a week at 'La Trompeta' and we had a really good time. The weather was very hot and the pool was very welcome. The villa itself is comfortably furnished and very well equipped. The small kitchen had everything, even things like a cheese grater and potato peeler. We have two teenage daughters and there was plenty of room to sit together or to have some space e.g. on the large balcony and the children enjoyed the WIFI access! The bedrooms are all quite large and all had ceiling fans ( I was still too hot most nights though!). We loved the pool, it was warm and clean and there are lots of inflatables and toys etc. There is also ample shade at the poolside. The area is great, Calpe is close but we preferred Moraira which has a lovely beach and good shops and restaurants, also free parking! Lots of supermarkets in the area, one in easy walking distance. We also went to Guardalest and into Valencia to the new science park - stunning! Bob, the owner of the property lives on the ground floor and he was around for the week we were there, he was friendly and really helpful but not at all intrusive. Thank you Bob! A couple of minor things got on my nerves a little, the shower would not stay at any one temperature although cold showers were nice cos it was up to 36 degrees some days, Some of the nights were noisy as there were celebrations at the beach, I think it was a religious festival (assumtion day?) so there were fireworks at midnight and music till really late. You can hear noise from the beach really clearly as the villa is about a ten minute walk from the beach and has great sea views. It's worth saying that I am fussy about noise so it might not have bothered other people! Each window has a fly screen and a security shutter but on some windows Bob has removed the glass to cool down the property, I think this made the noise seems worse but again I am fussy about this as I live in the middle of nowhere in Devon where I'm used to no noise at all. Just to say that Bob was also really helpful during the booking/payment process and when advising us about car hire etc. We used Giner car hire in Benissa as he recommended and they were brillaint.
