The Valenciana region
The northern region of the Costa Blanca is very picturesque. A beautiful winding coastline with clear blue waters and rocky coves giving way to fine white sandy beaches, dotted along the way with old fishing villages and coastal resorts.The backdrop to all this is the dramatic mountain range and lush fertile valleys with orange, olive, and almond groves nestling up to the typical white Spanish villages where wonderful food and wine can be enjoyed.
A mild climate is assured all year round, with an average of over 300 days of sunshine a year. The World Health Organisation has designated this area as possessing one of the finest climates found anywhere.
The area is rich in history and tradition of which the friendly locals are visibly proud. It is recorded that this is where the last of the moors were driven from Spain, and many re-enactments of battles between moors and Christians are played out around the region. along with the many fiestas and celebrations there is always some reminder of what has gone before.
The area offers you a diverse choice of activities, water sports, walking, golf. etc. and interests, sightseeing, antique fairs, markets, wonderful food and wine. etc.
Calpe has evolved from a small fishing village into the relaxed friendly resort it is today, without losing its identity, enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Indeed the fishing fleet still survives, and seeing these colourful boats returning to harbour with the days catch, each one with its escort of shimmering gulls in the afternoon sun, is one of the lasting images to take away. The harbour itself is sheltered by the rock known as the Penon de Ifach. A geological wonder rising out of the sea to over 332 mtrs, looking like a mountain that has slipped down to the beach. This is the symbol of the Costa Blanca. Seen from any direction it dwarfs everything around it, and puts all into perspective.
The beaches are superb, blue flag rated, and cleaned every day, you are spoilt for choice. There are two long main beaches that are backed by a wide promenade with bars and restaurants. There are also some smaller and larger sandy coves.
Calpe's salt lake is a unique nature spot which gives home to a wide variety of waterfowl, flamingoes and other migrating birds at various times of the year.
There is a nice cliff walk to the north of Calpe from the Levante beach leading to "La Bassetes" a small sheltered bay and harbour, here there are watersport facilities, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, scuba diving etc.
tuition is available if required, for both adults and children. nice restaurant bar on site for drinks, tapas or meals.
Calpe town is about a thirty minute stroll along the promenade from the apartment, although a good reliable bus service connects most points. Being a vibrant all year round working town with a fine selection of shops, cafes, supermarkets, banks, etc. there is always a buzz and plenty going on. A visit to the old town is a must, full of charm, by day or night, walk the narrow streets and shady squares and discover it's history. This is also where the market is held every Saturday morning.

"Fantastic accomodation - a great base to explore from"
We went out for a weeks climbing holiday and this was a perfect location to drive to a lot of the crags.
The accomodation was perfect as it was modern, clean and had all the items we needed to cook a good meal each night. The wet room is a great idea. It was an easy walk to the local shop, larger supermarkets and local bar/restaurant. The garden is lovely and the whole area was quiet. There was UK freeview channels to watch on the TV and WIFI access.

This villa was very clean and modern, with every possible amenitity you could of asked for. The surrounding gardens are second to none, a really superb and quiet little place just right for a totally relaxing holiday.

"Relaxing garden and home with pool to get away from it all, whilst close to towns and beaches."
House always stayed cool, and hardly used ceiling fans - great to be able to have windows open for welcome breeze whilst having insect screens to keep pests out. Large, private garden with exclusive access and only a couple of neighbours was the main feature for us, as we could follow sun or shade around the many seating areas and lots of established plants provided screening. Kitchenette was well equipped - cafetiere well used by us, and the Griddle Pan BBQ Griddle was great for outdoor cooking. Loads of storage shelves/cupboards in house - dressing room in Bed 1 a lovely touch - and wet room was great. Friendly owners live above, but do not intrude. Car advised as although local beach close, quite hot to walk in Summer, especially as easy to get lost amongst the other villas on the 'estate' - free parking not too hard to find in Calpe and then can enjoy walking along the long promenade alongside the beaches.. Good location to get away from it all, but close enough to Benidorm and it's water park 40-50 mins. Beautiful views and swimming around Calpe, but also worth going inland to Guadalest.

An excellent value for money apartment that feels like your own villa. lovely big garden and pool area, great for kids.
Phil & Caroline, the owners, are very helpful & friendly.

"An apartment of the highest standard in comfort and facilities set in beautiful gardens."
This was our second visit to the apartment which should say enough! Facilities faultless and yet Caroline and Phil are constantly thinking of extras they can add to the apartment and gardens. They are able to offer advice on the local amenities if required but it is extremely tempting to enjoy the peaceful gardens and pool area for a totally relaxing holiday. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this apartment for a wonderful hoiiday.

"Fantastic apartment with beautiful gardens and private pool - would definitely go back!"
We stayed in Bouganvilla for 10 nights in Sept 2012. We travelled with 2 small children (2 year old and 4 month old). We arrived late at night and Caroline and Phil had the apartment stocked with enough essentials (including a bottle of wine) to keep us going until we could get to the supermarket which was great when travelling with 2 small children. Caroline and Phil were so friendly and helpful and I could not recommend their apartment highly enough.
The apartment was lovely -very clean and very nicely decorated and fully stocked with all essentials. The beauty of Bouganvilla though is outside the apartment. It's beautifully landscaped with a lovely swimming pool. There was lots of outdoor seating and shaded areas with toys also to entertain the children. Caroline and Phil were so friendly and helpful and I could not recommend their apartment highly enough. It's in a lovely peaceful setting but only a short distance to the beach and Calpe
