You may choose from the many bars and restaurants for a formal meal or snack just minuites walk for the apartment.

If you prefer, you may stroll down the promenade to the harbour and watch the fisherman land their catch next to the famous Penon de Ifach.

If you are more on the brave side you can climb the Rock which take up to 2 hours. After all this choose one of the many restaurants at the harbour for a drink, tapa or meal. At the Yacht Club you can watch the boats come in. Be sure to take your camera.

For those that wish to get out and about Benidorm is 20 minutes drive away Terra Mitica is a perfect choice- Aqualand or Mundo mar are both fabulous adventures.

There are ceiling fans throughout for the summer months and an awning on the balcony to wind down should you wish for some shade.

There is a double and a single bed in the second bedroom and a large double bed in the master bedroom – this also has an exterior access onto the balcony so you may also enjoy the views while you are lying in bed as well as hear the sea.

There is plenty of storage and two modern lifts up to the apartment itself. The hot water runs off an electric water heater that has ample capacity for a family of five.

For a small fee you may arrange an underground car parking space 2 minutes walk from the apartment. The balcony accommodates at least four around the table and there are two comfortable lounge chairs to relax in and take in the sea views.

You can be met at the airport, subject to notice and be taken from door to door to the apartment- if you prefer to take a taxi you will be met at the apartment block with the keys to take you up and make sure you have everything you need.

The Costa Blanca/Valencia region

Amongst many interesting places, Calpe and its neighbouring town of Teulada, invites every visitor to enjoy the fishing harbour and the yacht harbour, famous for their steady wind conditions. Calpe weather is one of the mildest around the Costa Blanca due to the close mountains which protect the village from the sometimes stronger north winds.

At the heart of the Costa Blanca, within the region of Valencia lies an ancient fishing village, now a tourist magnet by the name of Calpe. Calpe sits in an ideal location, easily accessed by the A7 motorway and the N332 that runs from Valencia to Alicante. Calpe is dominated by the towering rock of Ifach which reaches to an impressive 332m and is now a nature reserve. The summit of the rock is reached by means of a tunnel through the rock. From here, magnificent panoramic views can be had. On a clear day, the island of Ibiza is visible.

Calpe

Calpe has a wonderful mixture of old Valencian culture and modern tourist trappings, perfectly harmonising providing an ideal base from which to explore the local area or enjoy on the many beaches. Calpe alone has three of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the coast.

Calpe is a town rich in history and culture and its strategic position on the coast has attracted many voyagers and settlers throughout history. Remains of Iberian tribes have been found around the town and later, the Romans founded a prosperous colony whose main activity was dried, salted fish. Christians and Moors lived peacefully for a time but were subjected to attacks by pirates during the 14th-17th centuries. The peace of the 18th century enabled Calpe to regenerate and form the current tourist location.

The Paseo Maritimo is long and clean, lined with bars and restaurants of all descriptions. The sea is clear and clean with golden sandy beaches. The blue flag beaches are safe for the young ones, making it a true, family resort. The town, although having very few monuments, was a pleasure to walk round, with plenty of squares to rest in along the way.

The town is easy to get to via the main highways although the centre is very difficult to navigate so best park on the outskirts.

The two churches of Calpe are certainly worth a visit. Close to each other, the Iglesia Antigua and the church Senora de las Nieves are both located in the centre of Calpe.

Calpe's two main beaches, the cantal roig and the playa arenal are widely known for its fine sand. Together with the other two beaches, la fossa and the bay of Gasparet which also belongs to the city, Calpe offers many kilometres of excellent swimming and surfing possibilities. Calpe has a good English community with many English people making this their retirement location.

"fabulous location"

This apartment is in a fabulous location with beautiful sea views. caple is a lovely place,great beach & resturants. The apartment was very basic, & looking tired!! its justs need's a little update!! especially the bathroom! but all said & done it was a good price & we had a great holiday. we would go back.

Thank you for the review, we have updated the apartment with new internal doors, external balacony sliding doors and tiled throughout, hope to see you again soon.

"fabulous appartment and location, just perfect"

we have been coming to Calpe for many years, and this is the best appartment for size, location, views of the beach you can get and believe it or not its still quiet being in the town, will be going back if the owner would have us.
