IDEAL FOR FAMILY OR GOLF GROUP (8 golf courses within 40 mins drive). The villa is situated in the hills of the Gavarres, overlooking a wooded green belt valley. Outside dining area and pool for summer use make for a perfect relaxing holiday. Vizcondado de Cabanyes is close to good road and rail links to Barcelona (1¼ hours), Girona (25 mins) and Perpignan (1¼ hours) or 10 minutes from excellent beaches and coves at Palamos, St Antoni de Calonge and Playa d’Aro.
Daily markets are held at local towns and there are excellent shops and year round restaurants open in Playa d’Aro and Palamos. The pool and gardens are very private and there are tranquil views across the green valleys.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region
Costa Brava, with its length of about 100 km, runs from Blanes to Port Bou near the French border. This makes the Costa Brava a very popular holiday destination for tourists who travel by car. Both of our villas are in Calonge, which is in the south of Costa Brava and in between Paramos and Platya d’ Aro. The villa lies in the foothill of the Cabanyes mountains and from the upper terrace off the master bedroom there are beautiful views to the bay of Palamos.
Calogne offers many cultural sights, like the Castle of Calonge. Calonge is a centrally located city with a cosy old centre with all kinds of nice shopping streets. The nearest beach can be found at 3 km, the beach of Sant Antoni de Calonge. The Costa Brava/Catalonia are located in the northeast of Spain. The region is renowned for its beautiful coastline. Unlike much of Spain the region is green all year round, but the temperature is never unbearably hot or freezing cold.
Calonge area
Calonge is a medieval village close to the sea between Palamos and St Feliu de Guixols in the north east Costa Brava region of Spain. Wonderful sandy beaches, picturesque wooded rocky coves or snow covered Pyrenees are all within easy reach. Both of our villas lies in the foothill of the Cabanyes mountains and from the upper terrace off the master bedroom there are beautiful views to the bay of Palamos.
Fantastic for either a FAMILY GROUP with its own large pool, “communal” pool 2 km away, plus tennis courts, 5 aside football pitches etc, and within 15 minutes of fantastic Aqua Park, together with Go Karts and numerous crazy golf courses, plus all sea/beach related sports. Or for a GOLFING GROUP – the property looks directly across to the Mas Nou golf course, and a further 7 excellent courses are within easy driving distance.

Calonge is a centrally located city with a cosy old centre with all kinds of nice shopping streets. The nearest beach can be found at 3 km, the beach of Sant Antoni de Calonge. Sant Antoni de Calonge is situated on the coast between the city of Palamos and Playa d’Aro and it has a really quiet sand beach with a nice boulevard and cosy outdoor cafes and restaurants. The beach and the clear sea are rewarded by the European Union by a Blue Flag for the proper and safe situation that has been created. The citizens are very friendly and easy-going. In Sant Antoni de Calonge mass tourism hasn’t really started. That’s why it’s also really quiet in the evening. In Playa d’Aro many excursions are offered: all kinds of water sports (like diving), cultural outings and of course the water and child parks. In the direct surroundings of Playa d’Aro you can find many golf courts. In the evening hours, it’s really nice to walk on the boulevard or through the shopping streets or to sit back and enjoy some drink in many nice bars, or to eat in the restaurants and Palamos are nearby. The kindness of the climate (in winter the temperatures rarely drops below zero degrees and well is well above 30 degrees in the summer), make it possible to enjoy this extraordinarily beautiful coastline and the several sandy beaches year round. Together with the heart-warming character of the local populace, the rich historical past, the lovely green hills and the varied exquisite kitchen makes the Costa Brava a holiday region which has a lot going for itself. Drawn by these riches, many famous artists have found serenity and peace at this Spanish part of coast.

How to get there
Girona airport is a destination for many airliners like RyanAir and Transavia, has become an important international gateway to the many attractions which the Costa Brava has to offer. A flight from London will take you less than two hours. At Girona Airport you can rent cars with agencies such as Budget, Hertz or Euro car and it’s only 38 Kilometre or about 30 to 40 minutes drive to our villas in Calonge. Spain international airport or “Barcelona Airport” is only over an hour drive to or from our villas. Where traditional and modern comfortably meet, is found. Here you will find many museums like the Gaudi and Miro museum, and many cathedrals like the famous Sagrada Familia.

Further details outdoors: The rear of the property faces due south and benefits from views towards Mas Nou, perhaps one of the most beautiful golf courses in the region. Being set at the top of the mountain, every hole has spectacular views.The rear terraces and garden also have views of the valley which winds its way up to the beautiful village of ............,with 2 fantastic restaurants and a historic church.
There are terraces around the swimming pool, immediately outside the living room and dining room, the latter having an excellent BBQ. The master bedroom also has direct acess onto the pool terrace. There is also a very larg roof terrace off the entrance hall, which means that there is plenty of outdoor space for everybody.
Finally, there is another private terrace below the swiming pool, which overlooks the natural lower garden.
