The Costa Brava/Catalonia is located in the northeast of Spain, the region being renowned for its beautiful coastline. Unlike much of Spain, the region is green all year round, but the temperature is never unbearably hot, or freezing cold. Costa Brava, with its length of about 100 km, runs from Blanes to Port Bou near the French border. This makes the Costa Brava a very popular holiday destination for tourists who travel by car. Both of our villas are in Calonge, which is in the south of Costa Brava and in between Palamos and Platya d' Aro. Calonge is a centrally located town with a cosy old centre, with many nice shopping streets.
The nearest beach for Villa Roma is Sant Antoni de Calonge, approx 3km. From the upper terrace, off the master bedroom, there are beautiful views to the bay of Palamos. Villa Roma lies in the foothills of the Cabanyes mountains. Villa Mila is located slightly lower and has delightful views up the valley to Romanya.
Calogne offers many cultural sights, like the Castle of Calonge.Sant Antoni de Calonge is situated on the coast between the city of Palamos and Playa d'Aro and it has a quiet sandy beach, with a nice boulevard and excellent outdoor cafes and restaurants. The beach and the clear sea have been rewarded by the European Union with a Blue Flag for cleanliness and safety. The citizens are very friendly and easy-going. In Sant Antoni, mass tourism hasn't really started. That's why it's also really quiet in the evening. If you would prefer an active night-life, there are nightclubs to suite all ages, all types of restaurants, street cafes, late night shopping, etc in Playa d'Aro; many excursions are offered: all kinds of water sports (like diving), cultural outings and of course the water park. In the direct surroundings of Playa d'Aro you can find many golf courses. In the evening, it's really nice to walk along the boulevard, or through the shopping streets or sit back and enjoy a drink in the numerous bars and restaurants.

The plot is about 1200sq. m. There is very little front garden, but off street parking for 2 cars.
There is a grassed area adjoining the lower dining terrace on the east side of the house, with limited views of the Bay of Palamos, whereas the terrace off the master bedroom, immediately above, has excellent views.
From this lawn, there are steps down to a sun-bathing terrace, with further steps down to the swimming pool and further extensive sun-bathing area and cold shower.
For those who want no sun , the small garden area adjacent to the western elevation is usually in shade all day.
Below the lawn there is a "wild" area, great fun for kids (not toddlers) as the entire site is fenced.
Below the pool is a pebbled terrace , part shade and part sun, but perhaps offers some peace, if there is mayhem around the pool!!
There is almost total privacy for the swimming pool, most of the terraces and the gardens.
Finally there is a small store to the front of the house which contains many floats for the swimming pool.
Tennis available at 2 local sports club, both approx 2km away (one in Calonge, one on road to beach) and there is a restaurant/bar on the estate, 1 km from the house, with very large outdoor eating terrace and live music at weekends. The petrol station about 1.5km away has a small shop with excellent fresh bread everyday.
Large Norwegian style, wood burning fire in living room, with radiating heat, plus central heating.

The climate (in winter, the temperature rarely drops below zero degrees and is around 30 degrees in the summer), makes it possible to enjoy this extraordinarily beautiful rugged coastline and the several sandy beaches all year round. The heart-warming character of the local populace, the rich historical past, the lovely green hills and the varied exquisite restaurants make the Costa Brava a wonderful holiday region. Drawn by these riches, many famous artists have found serenity and peace along this Spanish coast.
Calonge is a medieval village close to the sea between Palamos and St Feliu de Guixols. Wonderful sandy beaches, picturesque wooded rocky coves, or snow covered Pyrenees are all within easy reach.

Fantastic for either a FAMILY GROUP with its own large pool, plus tennis courts, 5 a-side football pitches etc, and within 15 minutes of fantastic Aqua Park, together with Go Karts and numerous crazy golf courses, plus all sea/beach related sports. Or for a GOLFING GROUP – the property looks directly across to the Mas Nou golf course, and a further 7 excellent courses are within easy driving distance.
