Home description

There are around 150 lodges on the site, all of which are surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens and afford stunning views over the countryside. The property offers four bedrooms, an open plan living area with spacious sitting/dining area and fitted kitchen area, and patio doors with a balcony with gorgeous views to Dartmoor. Guests receive automatic membership of Honicombe Manor and its facilities including heated indoor and outdoor pools, sunbeds, saunas, tennis courts, a bar, a shop, children's play area and entertainment.






The West Country / Cornwall region

Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Or could it be the cliff-top theatre at Mynack, working harbours, the world famous Eden project or St Michaels Mount, cut off from the mainland by a causeway. Or even the endless activities on offer; the Camel Cycling and Walking Trail, stunning coastal paths or the National Surf Centre at Newquay’s Fistral beach. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.


Callington area

Gunnislake is a little rural village that nestles on the steep banks of the River Tamar, surrounded by dense woods. The village has a choice of pubs and shops, and sits at one of the end of the pretty Tamar Valley Railway, which operates frequent services to Plymouth along the river bank. Dartmoor is easily explored from this lovely rural location, as are the stunning south and north coast beaches, and the many attractions and amenities of the far west of Cornwall. Tavistock and its regular pannier market, and number of good pubs and restaurants is only five miles away. The tranquil Donkey Sanctuary and National Trust owned Cotehele house and gardens are only quarter of an hour’s drive away, and golfers will relish the chance to enjoy a round at the famous St Mellion’s golf club.

Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the 'Low' and 'Mid' periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.

'Last Minute Breaks' (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'LOW', 'MID', 'HIGH', 'PEAK', 'XMAS' and 'NEW YEAR' periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.


Guestbook for 1010

The accommodation, although basic, was spacious for 8 plus dog and good value for money. On-site facilities were good, especially the restaurant which provided excellent food at a very reasonable cost. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Very good sized grounds for children.All in all it was good value in a lovely area.
