About the home

Gulliver is a spacious 6 bedroom cottage with a lovely setting faint the main pond and the Lynher valley beyond. Gulliver has 2 lounges, a conservatory with deck & private Hot Tub, wood burning fire, stunning kitchen with huge range cooker . the east wing has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. the west wing has 2 bedrooms and a spacious bathroom. Outside toi the front there is a large sunny patio with sculpted BBQ & bto the rear there is a peaceful deck with private hot tub.

Trehill cottages has 2 fishing ponds, a games room outdoor pool (seasonal). there are kids play areas, donkeys and lots of green sunny space to relax in! The internationally renowned St Mellion golf courses are just 2 miles down the road

Facilities

Further details indoors:
Gulliver cottage has everything you could need for a group get together. Big kitchen dining room with extra large table that comfortably sleeps 12. There are 2 TVs with a selection of DVDs appealing to all ages. There are 3 distinct lounge areas. The largest will sit all 12 of you at one go, but if you need a little peace & quite, there is a lovely conservatory & another annexe room in between the lounge and kitchen.

The main lounge has a wood burning fireplace & large 32" LCD TV. There is also a utility room with spare "drinks fridge" and washing machine.

Upstairs there are 6 bedrooms in 2 wings. The main east wing has 4 bedrooms (2 doubles & 2 twins) along with 2 shower rooms.

The smaller west wing has a further 2 bedrooms & a family bathroom.

Outside your front door, you have a spacious patio where there are benches, picnic tables & a large BBQ

Further details outdoors:
Gulliver has a lakefront patio as well as a sunny rear deck. The deck, accessed directly from the patio also has a good sized all year round hot tub - just perfect for a relaxing bathe after a long walk! The Hot Tub has a usage charge of £60 per week (£40 for short breaks) and is open all year round.

Outside, the main fishing pond (there are 2) is just a few feet away (there is a latch gate to keep little ones safe).
The ponds are well stocked with carp, rudd & tench. This is a private facility with no non-resident fishermen allowed.

There are 4 acres of well kept lawns and paddock for our donkeys. There is plenty of space here to kick a ball about or just choose a quiet sunny bench to read a book.

There are child's play areas with swings and climbing frames as well as a good sized games room with table tennis, air hockey, table football etc.

Outside there is also a very sunny pool area (outdoor pool is open June to early September.

In addition you get 6 adult & 6 child memmebrships to the nearby China Fleet club. This superb facility is a short drive but ity gives you free use of...

The West Country / Cornwall region

This lovely corner of SE Cornwall enjoys a sheltered micro climate protected by the moors to the north and the Tamar estuary to the south. Trehill itself lies on a mini plateau surrounded by countryside on all sides. This means that it is sunny, light and dry.

Callington has a Tesco, Co Op and other local shops. There is a farmers market run by the WI every Wednesday and a larger one twice a month. There are some really good country pubs within a short drive as well. Locally there is great walking and cycling.

The Callington area

The great thing about this area is that although Trehill is exceptionally quiet and peaceful, the main roads are close by. So you can get everywhere very quickly.

Cotehele (5 minutes away) is a beautiful tudor manor house. A little bit further afield there are a number of other wonderful NT house (Lanhydrock, Castle Drogo, Saltram (famous for Alice & Wondreland) and Buckfast, the home of Sir Francis Drake.

The nearest beach is at Seaton (20 minutes) and for adrenalin junkies there is karting, europe's longest zip wire and boating all within 10 minutes.

For golfers, St Mellion (2 miles) is truly outstanding and China Fleet offers very good golf at a reasonable price.

Eden and the gardens of Heligan are about 40 minutes away and even Lands End is onlt 80 minutes.

Closer to home though are the SW coastal paths and if you miss the "urban " too much, Plymouth with its historic barbican centre is only 12 miles away.

There is fishing on site but if you want to try the deep sea version then Looe with it's charter boats is about 25 minutes away.

For those looking for a bit more adventure, there is off road driving, clay pidgeon shooting, karting, Europe's longest zip wire and horse riding all within a short drive (about 10 minutes or so).

Calling ton is easily reached from major roads and rail stations. If using sat nav DO NOT slow the sat nav to set a route "avoiding congestion charge".

Travel by road. Take the M5 south from Bristol. At the end of the M5(Exeter), take the A38 to Plymouth. At Plymouth cross the Tamar bridge. At the roundabout take the A388 to Callington. At Callington take the A390 towards Liskeard. As you leave Callington you will go down a steep hill. Trehill lane is about 400m down the hill. Turn left And proceed along the lane for 200m and Trehill cottages will be on the right.

Train - use Plymouth on the Great Western line.
Ferry - Plymouth is served by defies from France and Spain.
plane - Plymouth has a small airport, Exeter, Bristol and Newqauy are also close by.
