The Provence region
The region is famous for its diversity in terms of climate and landscapes. From the large and famous beaches at St Tropez and the southern Alpes, the jurassic Esterel mountains each day will be a discovery.
The village of Callian that overlooks the whole valley is only 1.5 miles away is famous for its Cascade and its old stone built houses. Also depending on your tastes you can enjoy classic music concert in the middle-age chapel or art exhibitions.
Going north, you can discover the wild "Alpilles". Other altitude lakes and wild forest areas are close by. The famous "Gorges du Verdon" (Mountain river) and the village of Moustier where the famous artwork ceramic are made can be reached in the hour via the fantastic mountain roads.
Going South, it is the night life at its best. Cannes is only 30 minutes away. St Tropez and St Raphael are easy to reach via the motorway as well.
The village (2 miles away) is a typical "nid d'aigle" (eagle nest) and is nice place to have typical local food. Other typical villages are very close: St Cezaire and its caves, Mons and its breath taking view on the whole riviera from Monaco to St Tropez.
You will also enjoy rowing and other water sports on the lake of Saint Cassien (15 minutes drive).
Plus you are not too far from the Cannes and the sea (less than 20 miles).
In Fayence is the largest gliding centre in Europe only 15 minutes drive for the house.

"Great property - but pool not what it seems!"
We stayed here for one week at the end of August in hot and sometimes stormy weather. The cottage is very comfortable - all Ikea kitchen and storage, lovely new bathroom, comfy bed, and tables inside and out. Eclectic mix of utensils in the kitchen, but the owners were more than happy to supply whatever was missing. Very quiet environment - large dog on property but he is a sweetie. The wifi exists but as the owner does not leave the modem on, you need to ask each time you want to connect. The pool in the photo is not what you get when you arrive through. It is actually completely covered with a domed aluminium cover which is semi-permanent and cannot be removed. You prop open one end, duck down to climb in (mind your head!) and essentially swim inside! It's actually not as bad as it sounds - it looks very claustrophobic from outside, but once you're inside, it's OK. You need to be strong to open it though as it's heavy - or find the owner each morning and ask for it to be opened. The landscaping around the pool is also rather unattractive - scrubby scratchy grass, but some lovely massive trees to catch some shade, and comfy sunloungers are provided. Overall it is a very comfortable place, isolated and quiet, and the owners are friendly. The cottage is very close to the main house, but it feel relatively private. Pump up your biceps though if you want to make full use of the pool!

"Lovely Gite in beautiful surroundings. Friendly hosts. Perfect holiday!!!!!"
We have had the most fabulous holiday at this lovely spacious little Gite set in the most perfect French setting. It was fantastic value for money!! We were well prepared by the hosts that it would be small but we were very pleasantly surprised how spacious it was. It more than met what we needed. There was always lovely hot water in the shower and plenty of storage space. It was beautifully clean and very tastefully decorated and we felt at home straight away. Many many thanks to Daniel and Danielle who were the perfect hosts and we thank them very much for making us feel so welcome. They were very very kind and made themselves available for any queries we had. There is Wi Fi access at the Gite which was very helpful as was the air-conditioning which was very quiet. The pool was lovely and warm. It was always above 30 degrees even though it was unheated. The gardens are not manicured but were still very picturesque surrounded by trees. It was a lovely and quiet setting. The nearest town Callian which was 2 km away was fabulous and we went numerous times for dinner. The atmosphere was lovely and there was a music festival around the area throughout our time there, so we were often eating accompanied by fabulous tasteful music. You need a car to get around obviously but you have to visit all of the wonderful places that are easy to reach. Lac De Cassien was amazing which is only 10mins away. There are lots of typically French towns within easy reach all well worth a visit. The scenery is spectacular! We had the most wonderful holiday here and would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet holiday away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We wish we were still there and would definitely return again.

"relaxing base in a beautiful area"
very friendly and helpful hosts near to Callian which is a hilltop vilage in a very beautiful setting. the villa was clean and modern with comfortable beds (ours was memory foam)and we shared the pool and garden with the owners but mostly had it to ourselves. The description is slightly misleading - it is a one room open plan studio (no seperate bedroom)with a loo and shower room it has 2 double sofa beds both of which were very comfortable. A modern kitchen with large fridge freezer. Plentiful hot water and very good (quiet) air conditioning, spacious modern wardrobe. The swimming pool is large and has a domed cover to keep the heat in which also means it would be very safe if you have small children we opened it up every day and swam, although unheated it was 31/32 C temp. It is not a manicured garden but very spacious and we were allowed to help ourselves to the delicious cherry tomatoes in the garden. The surrounding villages are gorgeous, you feel like you are on a film set in some of the restaurants! We thought the villa was great value and would recommend it - only negative no washing machine or DVD as advertised but local laundrymat solved that - we couldnt access the wifi but maybe we just didn't get the code right
