The Tenerife region
The village of Callao Salvaje is a very quiet, but peaceful and relaxing place situated between the bustling resort of Playa de Las Americas and the more tranquil resort of Los Gigantes, that has become a very popular area to live in. Originally a small fishing village, over the past few years Callao Salvaje has undergone a very rapid transformation. It is a self contained village that is a mix of residential town and holiday resort with all the amenities you can wish for. There are a couple of supermarkets and a pharmacy, together with bars and restaurants, shops, car hire, bank etc and only a 20 minute drive away from the airport.
There is a shale/sand beach here at the moment, although one is due to go in around 2009, but Callao Salvaje is only 10 minutes down the road from areas such as Fañabe where you can find stunning natural and man made beaches.
The resort is within easy reach of the golf courses, the nearest one being the Costa Adeje, which is just a 5 minute drive away.
Callao Salvaje / Mariben area
Callao Salvaje is a convenient base from which to explore more of the island of Tenerife. Its close proximity to the motorway system makes getting about the island fairly easy, whether it is heading north into the Tiede National Park or south towards to more lively resort areas, very few destinations are more than a 45 minute drive away. Do not worry if you don't drive, there are plenty of buses and taxis linked to Callao Salvaje that will take you pretty much all over the island.
Callao Salvaje is very handy for the main resorts but also has the added bonus of being a much more peaceful and tranquil area making it a fantastic choice for those who want to be near the 'action' but not stuck in the middle of it all the time.
Ideal for relaxation, or golf, swimming, eating out and historical towns
How to get there
Follow TF1 towards Playa after 10 mins you will come to a roundabout turn left for Playa San Juan, carry on down through Arminime and past the roundabout for Playa Paraiso until you come to the roundabout for Callao Salvaje, turn left, Mariben is the second turning on the left with striped road markings.

Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay at your holiday home. The facilities were superb. We came back quite chilled! It was so peaceful being away from the night life, It was all very nice.
The complex was quite for the time of year with plenty of space around the pool and the tennis court was bonus too. The Townhouse was very spacouus as were the patio and balcony areas. All very nicely furnished.
Just wanted to say what a fantastic week's holiday we had. Your town house was great, good location, well equipped and easy to find with your directions. Weather was superb - managed to get into the pool everyday. At the start of the week, temperature was in the high twenties. Thanks for the other information about hypermarket locations and 'shoulder of lamb' - much appreciated.
