- Telmessos: once a prominent city and a centre of the prophecy
- Cadianda: city dating back to the 4th century

- Temple of Leto and her children Artemis and Apollo (Beautiful mosaic).
- Sidyma: an important Roman city (Beautiful mosaic).
- Xanthos: the largest city in Lycia

Calis Beach and the Gulf of Fethiye
Calis Beach: The resort is reasonably quiet and small, ideal for walking, the promenade and beach front has recently been revamped . Umbrellas and loungers available to hire at the beach. The water taxi is great to take for a scenic journey to Fethiye. Calis beach is famous for its spectacular sunsets and a refreshing afternoon breeze which is most welcome in the height of summer. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the vicinity, for the kids there is a small water park (younger kids) and the beach. There are plenty of places to organize day excursions to various attractions in the surrounding area. Market day is on Sunday, this is a smaller version of the one in Fethiye.
The Gulf of Fethiye is thought by many sailors to be second only to the Indian Ocean in terms of the beautiful seascapes it offers. This is the nearest town to Calis and is only a 10 minute dolmus (mini bus) ride or a 30 minute water taxi ride away. It hosts a weekly Tuesday market which is well worth a visit, as you might expect you can usually find a bargain or two from home grown fruit and veg to rip off “designer gear” . In the picturesque harbour you can sit and watch the goings on or arrange a boat trip, this is also a pleasant place to spend the evening in one of the many restaurants with a harbour view. There are ancient Lycian tombs to be explored in the hillside behind and you can come across many Roman and Lycian sites scattered around the town.
Explore the bay and beautiful Blue Lagoon where the calm, crystal clear water is ideal for swimming and other water sports. The Blue Lagoon is one of the best places in the world to do absolutely nothing but soak up the sun amid stunning natural surroundings. Paragliding is very popular here, the scenery being spectacular from an elevated position.
With a large natural harbour Gocek has grown up to cater to the needs of yachtsmen. One of the pleasures of a visit here is a stroll around the Marina to admire the array of boats of all shapes and sizes moored here. The waterfront is lined with bars and restaurants. Inland life revolves around the pretty market square which is lined with little shops selling antiques and crafts as well as the more usual carpets.

"Beautifully maintained and relaxing location"
This is our second time in Calis as we love the resort so much. This is a lovely apartment and ideal for 2 families to share or in our case with the grandparents. The duplex layout gave the grandparents the top floor balcony and their own bathroom/living area to themselves. It’s in a nice quiet part of Calis, but near to everything, only a 10 minute walk from the main shops/bars. The apartment was well equipped and very clean, with TV and DVD and games for kids, but we didn’t even plug them in as there is so much to do. The complex was very safe for kids to play around the gardens and pool area. The gardens were beautiful and the gardener was out every day tending the gardens. The standard of fittings were of high quality in the apartment, with a well equipped kitchen, comfy sofa and the beds were proper beds and not the normal Turkish ones! Calis itself is idea for families and couples with lots of places to eat and bars for a drink in the evenings. It’s also a good base for trips and there are so many trips you can go on for very reasonable price.

We have spent three holidays in the Gunes Apartment and hope to go back next year for a fourth time. What can I say the apartment is great, it is very spacious even for a large family, although when we go there is only the two of us. The apartment is well equipted and very clean and has everything you could need for your holiday. The complex of Kaya park is only small appox 36 apartments and the gardener /pool attendent keeps the garden and pool immaculate, he mantains the pool every day. Calis is a beautiful resort plenty of places to eat and it has a lovely long pomenarde lined with restaruants on one side and the beautiful mediterraen on the other. There are so many places to see and explore from Calis to many to number. Kaya park is a prefect place to holiday very near to all that Calis has to offer but very quite and peaceful at night. Do not miss the Calis sunset they are magnificent

"Fantastic Family Holiday, walking distance to everything you need, Brill!"
Fantastic apartment, furnished to a high standard in a great location: 10 mins (slow) walk from the beach, water taxis to Fethiye, heart of the town, Calis Sunday market. 5 mins walk from the Water Park and Turkish Baths. 3 mins from local supermarket and local buses. Pool and gardens kept beautifully. Apartment very comfortable all clean and tidy with modern fittings, sleeps 8 with ease. Has 2 sun balconies, 4 reclining sunbeds for the pool. We have been twice now and can't wait until we can go again.
