This 150 year old fisherman's cottage is restored to a very high standard using original granite and chestnut wood throughout and designed for outside living. A wonderful covered veranda runs the whole length of the cottage and looks out on to the garden....perfect place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine.
There is a large outside BBQ and plenty of outdoor seating. The sun terrace looks down through the village to the ocean and up the coastline to the next fishing village of Paul do Mar...great setting for breakfast.

The Madeira region
Madeira is a beautiful island and often referred to as "The Floating Garden of the Atlantic" or "The Island of Eternal Spring".

Back on land we have levada walking, island tours, Madeira Story Centre, Madeira Theme Park, Santa Cruz Aqua Park, Botanical Gardens, riding, tennis and golf, Santa Maria Ship, cable cars and elevators, ferry to Porto Santo, helicopter flights, balloon rides, Monte toboggan rides, shopping, eating out and nightlife
Calheta / Jardim do Mar area
Cottage located in the friendly village of Jardim do Mar and within walking distance of two upmarket restaurant/bars serving fine food and two restaurant/bars serving more pub styled food. Calheta just a five minute drive offers sandy beaches/lagoon with very safe swimming. Calheta also offers supermarket and several more restaurants. Prazeres, ten minute drive, offers entrance to levada walking. Every local village has annual festas.

Second bedroom has two large single beds with wardrobe. Combined living room and large kitchen with granite work tops. Lounge not large, but comfortable and offers seating for three.
Further details outdoors: Beautiful walled garden with lawn, fruit trees and flowers. Large BBQ with plenty of sitting. The veranda runs the entire length of the cottage with outside table and chairs for four. Upstairs on sun terrace there is a table and chairs for two.
