“Stayed at Cassa Sarah and can only agree with all the comments already made. A super villa and great service offered by Sarah and her local team. Cassa Sara had the feel of a real home. Would certainly recommend and will be re-booking”

“First time we have strayed away from a package holiday, so was a little apprehensive on booking. However I would concur with all the other comments made about this property and would certainly recommend it and will re-book. It has a very homely feel about the place which you don't get with a hotel or self catering apartment. Sarah offers an excellent and friendly service and nothing is too much trouble
Pool area is great for sun lovers and children. Only downside is that I wish it was mine!!”

“As usual a great place to stay at a great price, The villa has everything you need. Sarah's recommendations for dinner are always spot on. It is idealy situated especially for the golf. A lovely relaxing time and we will be back again.”

“This is a superb villa with all the comforts of home and more(well we don't have a swimming pool at home!) We had a fantastic holiday, lazing about the pool during the day and there are lots of really good restaurants to choose from in the evening (try restaurant 15 - it's our favourite). We did stay in one night to try out the BBQ and that was a great success. Nothing is very far away, and there are some good walks now too for the more energetic. I would deffinately recommend this property.”

“We (4 adults, one 4 year old and two 1 year olds) had a wonderful and relaxing time. This spacious villa was more than big enough for all of us. Its within a lovely quiet residential area, with all the expected home comforts, 2 bathrooms, good sized bedrooms, a generous lounge, conservatory/dining area, well equipped kitchen, lovely outside area, BBQ and pool, we thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay and couldn't have wanted for anything else. We even did a spot of washing and ironing!!
Fuerteventura offers lots to do. Casa Sara is located within a golf complex so great for golfers, but if not it is a 10 minute walk down to the beautiful beaches another 5-10 minute walk to the harbour, where along the way there are good restaurants and bars and lots of shops and supermarkets. The buses were regular and easy to use.
I would thoroughly recommend the Villa to all. The personal service provided by Sarah is first rate, nothing is too much trouble. It is great value for money, we will definitely return.”
13th February 2011 by The Price family (STAYED IN FEBRUARY 2009)
“The Villa is very clean, tidy and uncluttered, exactly as described with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Restaurants and bars are close at hand as is the well stocked supermarket if you want to eat in. Sarah (the owner) couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating and I would recommend picking her brains for all the local knowledge she's accumulated.
I would throughly recomend Casa Sara as a great place to stay.”

“Couldn't have asked for more from this very clean, well presented Villa. It's on a lovely complex and only a short walk to the beach, bars, restaurants and shopping centre. I'd stay here again for sure!!!”

“We stayed here for our Honeymoon! It certainly is a fantastic property...quiet and extremely private. Excellent location - 10 minutes walk to the white sandy beach...GORGEOUS!! Main town is fantastic for nightlife too - excellent Irish bar! The villa is beautifully decorated - home from home! Supermarket just down the road to pick up food for BBQ's if you don't fancy going out! Must re-book....”

“As it says a must stay property! Everthing is clean and looks new I was told that the lady refurbs every year. The pool was great for the kids as it graduates from steps to deep end. So much room everywhere and the front room was great as kids could do there thing and we had another comfy area to chat, read or have a drink. I wolud recommend it to any family its one of the nicest places we have ever stayed”

“This is a fabulous house which offers everything you could possibly need and more besides. It is comfortably furnished with all the mod cons. The pool is great and there is plenty of private sunbathing space. It is a stones throw from the golf course, and a short walk to restaurants and bars. I have no hesitation in recommending this property”

The Fuerteventura region
Fuerteventura is one of the seven islands that belong to the Canary Archipelago. Furthermore with a distance of only 90km to Cabo Jubi (Western Sahara) it is the Canary island which is closest to Africa. The 340 km of coast area surrounding the island offer numerous beautiful beaches and bays and therefore lots of fun and action near the ocean and in an unique nature.
Caleta de Fuste
If you look around Caleta de Fuste, you will notice that it does not have a significant old town. This is because it is a purpose built holiday resort. It has been created around the original cove, because this offered a safe, sheltered environment for beach activities. Caleta is Spanish for cove and a fuste is a type of fishing boat
The large beach at Caleta de Fuste has been created from pale golden sand, that was brought in especially for the purpose. Over time the sand has compacted, but unlike some other locations where the man made beach has been removed by nature, the beach at Caleta de Fuste remains relatively intact. There is a plan to improve the main beach at a cost of over 4 million euros, the work should have been done in 2008 and 2009, but local politics means that it may get completed in 2010. Further beaches have been created parallel to the Sheraton and Elba Carlotta Hotels and the Atlantico commercial centre. They were made by creating lagoons where there was once solid rock, and then importing sand for the beach. These beaches have now settled in and the sea there is generally calm. They look good and are conveniently placed for a quick sunbathe when you are shopping.
These beaches have been created hand in hand with the quality hotels that have been constructed to the south of the original part of Caleta.
Caleta de Fuste Map
There are some three dozen holiday complexes in the Caleta de Fuste, most offering one or two bed apartments, self catering facilities, centred around a pool. You can see where these are located by looking at the Caleta map
The apartment complexes are in three main areas, the central town of Caleta de Fuste, Nuevo Horizonte, now called Costa Antigua, to the north, and Chipmunk mountain to the east (its not really a mountain, but it is uphill).
Transport in Caleta de Fuste
Caleta used to have only 15 taxis, but now has six more, which is plenty. Remember that you cannot book a taxi in advance here, but they arrive within 5 to 10 minutes of being called. The number to call is (00 34) 928163004. It is easy to get to the capital, Puerto Del Rosario, in 20 minutes on the no 3 bus. There is now a central bus station in Puerto del Rosario from which you can catch a bus to all parts of the island.
Caleta de Fuste's central location on the east coast, makes it an ideal base for those wanting to explore Fuerteventura. Everywhere on the island is within an hour’s journey of Costa Caleta/Caleta de Fuste. You can hire a car at a competitive price using our Fuerteventura Car Hire facility.
The development of Caleta de Fuste
Caleta de Fuste has expanded over the last couple of years. There are now two 18 hole Golf Courses. The Sheraton hotel has been completed and opened, as has the Costa Caleta Hotel, the most recent hotel to be opened is the Elba Carlotta.
The resort of Caleta de Fuste, has been developed in such a way that it is enjoyed by families and others who appreciate a safe, relaxing holiday in a friendly environment.
Caleta de Fuste's Many Names
The town of Caleta de Fuste is variously called Caleta de Fuste, Caleta, El Castillo (because of the 17th century fortification) and most recently Costa Caleta. This causes some confusion, as some visitors think these are different places, and that it might be nice to go to one of the other
