About the home

Our lovely bungalow is new to the rental market and is freshly decorated throughout, with lots of brand new furniture and equipment, plus all brand new bed linen and towels.
It has panoramic sea views and is situated on the hillside overlooking Caleta de Fuste and is only a 10 minute drive or taxi ride from the airport.
It is located in a pretty, well-maintained complex directly opposite the swimming pool.
It is a 5 to 7 minute walk to the Fiesta Centre( as per google maps) with several bars and restaurants and a Hiperdino Express supermarket. A 15 to 20 minute walk will take you to the town centre of Caleta and the beach( as per google maps) with its wide choice of restaurants, shops, bars, several supermarkets, pharmacy and doctor's surgery. The Atlantico Shopping centre is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk away, again housing a choice of shops, bars and restaurants, plus Caleta's largest supermarket, Eurospar, which has a fresh meat, fresh fish, fresh fruit and vegetable section and a delicatessen. There is a lovely sheltered beach by the Atlantico shopping centre very clean and well maintened and a perfect place for non swimmers and swimmers alike.

Our bungalow has 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with 2 single beds and so sleeps four people comfortably. Each bedroom has a wardrobe, chest of drawers, mirror, hair-drier, chair, electric fan, bedside cabinets and bedside lights. There is an enclosed, tiled, totally private rear garden, which has a couple of sunbeds plus washing lines with clothes-pegs, accessed via patio doors from one of the bedrooms.

The bathroom is fully tiled and comprises bath, over-bath shower, washbasin, toilet and large illuminated mirror.

The kitchen comes complete with four ring electric hob, extractor hood, full-size oven with grill, automatic washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer, coffee-maker, sandwich-toaster, iron, ironing board, together with a full supply of crockery, cutlery, utensils and cookware for four people.

The lounge/diner is complete with two very comfortable two-seater sofas, coffee table, lamp tables, table lamps, large wall unit which houses the TV and DVD player, a good selection of DVD's (bring some of your own if you wish), playing cards, books and magazines, dining table, four cushioned dining chairs, china cabinet and Ipod docking station. There is an electric radiator should the evenings get chilly.

Further details outdoors:
Double patio doors lead from the lounge to the raised sun terrace furnished with table, four cushioned chairs and umbrella, where you can enjoy sea views while dining alfresco and on to a further tiled sunbed patio with four cushioned sunbeds.

The enclosed gardens make a safe area for children to play and parents to relax, that's if the children can stay away from the swimming pools which are only 20 metres away !! A private gated driveway for car parking completes the outside space.

A welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, sugar and fresh drinking water will be waiting for you on arrival.

The bungalow benefits from having free Wifi . Clients will have to bring their own laptop or they can access from their phone if it has the facility. There is also an Ipod docking station.

Our English property manager lives close by should you have any problem that you need help with. She will meet you on arrival to give you keys to the bungalow.

IS IT FOR ME ?
We do need to make it very clear that if your idea of the perfect holiday consists of non-stop partying and clubbing with raging nightlife right on your doorstep, then this is definitely not for you !!

If you are seeking peace and quiet, rest and relaxation, with all basic needs within a short walk, a really comfortable base centrally situated from which to explore a beautiful island, amazing beaches to keep the whole family happy then this is definitely for you !!

If you have an interest in any type of surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving or fishing then you will love it !!

If you enjoy the simple things in life like wonderful weather, beaches to die for, swimming in clear turquoise waters, gentle pottering and exploring, watching incredible sunsets whilst sampling superb local food and wine we can assure you that you will be more than happy and will probably fall in love with the island the same as we have !!

Conditions

Whilst we ask our guests not to smoke inside the bungalow, smoking in the gardens in the sunshine is much nicer and ashtrays are provided for outside use !

The Fuerteventura region

Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary islands with an average year round temp of 22C making it an ideal holiday location any time of year. The Island is serviced by Easyjet, Ryanair, Condor, Aer Lingus and numerous charter flights. Car hire is convenient and cheap way to get around the Island and there is a wide selection of car hire agencies to choose from.

The Caleta de Fuste / Chipmunk Mountain area

Caleta de Fuste is located 8 km south of Fuerteventura airport and is only a 10 minutes drive. It is ideal for families, couples and golfers, and has something for everyone.

Beach
The main beach is set around a large horseshoe bay with golden sands shelving gently into the Atlantic. It is ideal for families. A small train runs from the harbour through the town and up Chipmunk Mountain every 30 minutes and costs 1 euro each way.

Watersports
The water temperature in Fuerteventura varies between 22C in summer and 19C in winter, making it an ideal year round destination for snorkelling, diving, surfing, windsurfing and kiteboarding. The regular force 3-5 winds provides ideal all year round sailing conditions. The port in Caleta offers jet-skiing, windsurfing and diving and sea excursions on the Oceanarium Explorer, a glass bottom submarine-style craft. The local catarmaran boasts a high success rate spotting dolphins and whales.

Restaurants
There are numerous restaurants in the resort catering for all international tastes. Spanish, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Greek, Italian, English, Irish, Scottish and Portugese restaurants can be found. At the Atlantico Centre you will find a Burger King and a McDonalds close by. There are also plenty of bars which are open from breakfast until late and most of them serve food. Prices are very reasonable and an English breakfast can be as little as 2.50 euro.

Golf
Fuerteventura has 2 golf courses and both are within a 5 minute drive of the villa. They both have spectacular views of the Atlantic. The Fuerteventura Golf Club has 18holes and is a par 70. A round of golf costs about EUR 49 and golf buggies and clubs are available for hire. The Las Salinas Golf course is also an 18 hole par 70 and also offers a driving range. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are available at the club houses from 8am to 8pm.

Shops
There are numerous supermarkets in Caleta and at the nearby Atlantico shopping centre there is a large Eurospar which sells all your holiday requirements including fresh fish, meat and vegetables. This supermaket also stocks a large selection of Gluten Free foods making it an ideal choice for Coeliac sufferers. A brand new Mercadona supermarket will be opening on September 27th 2012.

What to do in the Evening.
As most hotels have a bar there will be some type of evening entertainment programme. Entertainment usually starts around 8.30 with Mini Discos for children with the main entertainment on from 9.30 until 10.30 – 11pm. I would recommend going to the Barcelo Fuerteventura Hotel and the Barcelo Club near the harbour. They have musical tribute acts, such as The Beatles, Abba, Bee Gees, Flamenco, acrobatic shows, magicians etc. Their own entertainment teams do versions of musicals such as The Lion King, Cats, Les Miserables, Grease and other tribute shows. All the bars and shows are child friendly so the whole family can enjoy.


Activities for Children
Oasis Park Zoo. It is worth spending a whole day at Oasis Park Zoo which is 45 minutes south at La Lajita. The animals are well looked after in a beautiful setting. Admission is 18 Euro for over 11yrs, 10 Euro for children 3 – 11. The zoo is set in 800,000 square metres of natural landscape, with more than 250 types of animals. There are 4 shows daily along with camel safari, petting farm and childrens playground. There is a free coach service to Oasis Park from Caleta. The bus picks up at the Barcelo Club at 09:10, The Barcelo Hotel and 09:10 and the Repsol Garage near Mac Donalds at 09:20. It returns at 17:45

There is 10 pin bowling and a cinema at the Atlantico Shopping Centre.
Trampolines and crazy golf are available close to the Beach.
Bike hire is also available in the area.

Fuerteventura is served by Easyjet, Ryanair, Condor, Aer Lingus airlines plus numerous other charter flights. The flight takes around four hours from most UK, Scottish and Irish airports.
Ferries are available from Lanzarote, Tenerife and Gran Canaria, also from Santander and Cadiz in mainland Spain.
Car hire is a convenient and reasonably priced way to explore the whole Island during your visit and there are a large selection of car hire companies to choose from. Cicar and Hertz both have offices at the airport, you can book in advance on-line and collect and return your car from and to the Airport.

“Home from home but sunny :-)” We stayed here in July 2012 with my teenage son & daughter. It really was a home from home with everything you needed and more on hand. The kitchen is a proper kitchen with everything you need to cook and enjoy dining alfresco! The onwers communicated well before we departed and Audrey was very helpful too.
