About the home

The Beach Villa forms part of a small privately owned development, benefits from a communal swimming pool and is within a ten minute walk of the beach, shops, restaurants and golf course. The new Centro Comercial Atlantico shopping centre is only a short walk away, which is the home of a multiplex cinema, bowling alley together with a good range of shops (including a supermarket), cafes and restaurants.

The accommodation itself comprises a good sized lounge and dining area, with glazed doors to the front garden. A DVD Player/TV Monitor and Radio/CD player ( including a selection of DVDs & CDs ) are provided for your entertainment. There are shutters fitted to all windows to keep the villa cool during the day and there are ceiling fans to further aid your comfort.

The Villa has one double bedroom with the second bedroom having twin beds and both benefiting from large built-in wardrobes.

The fully tiled bathroom has luxury fitments and has a bath with shower, wash hand basin, low-level WC and bidet.

There is a modern fully equipped kitchen with ample storage units, an electric hob and oven, fridge, microwave oven, washing machine, water heater and full compliment of utensils.

The villa also benefits from its own roof terrace where you can relax and enjoy the sun, enjoying views of the beach, harbour, golf course and Chipmonk Hill

The Fuerteventura region

Fuerteventura is about 90 kms from the west coast of Africa, and is the second largest of the Canary Islands.

The island has the best climate of all the Canary Islands with nearly 3000 hours of sunshine and despite the fact it has some of the most stunning scenery to be found in the Canaries, it remains one of the least visited islands. The island is therefore very much less developed and has miles of beautiful white un-crowded beaches. The lack of visitors ensures that those who want to get off the beaten track can easily find peace and tranquillity on the many deserted beaches and other areas of stunning natural beauty.

Visitors landing at the airport for the first time are met with a view that would not look out of place on the moon; the landscape has numerous mountains and huge barren volcanic expanses. However, the truly breathtaking scenery along the coastline will stun those who are prepared to go and explore. The contrast is magnificent from the mountainous sand dunes of brilliant white sand, to the two metre waves crashing down at El Cotillo. The vision of crystal blue lagoons at the South of the island seems more in keeping with the Caribbean rather than the Canaries.

Watching the sun set on an evening with a long cool drink in your hand you could easily get the feeling that this is as close as it gets to paradise.

The island also has the advantage of being a tax free zone which means it is excellent value for money.

Those that seek history or culture will not be disappointed either, there are many remote villages worth a visit such as the ancient capital of Betancuria, which was named after the islands conqueror Jean de Bethancourt.

One group of people also attracted to the island are the young and active surfers and board sailors. Due to the perfect wind conditions at certain times of the year surfing has become a major sport on the island. The Windsurfing Championships are held annually on the island. These are a major attraction and are spectacular to watch.

The Caleta de Fuste / Central Caleta area

Caleta de Fuste (now known as Costa Caleta) is situated on the east coast of the island, roughly 10Km south of the airport and approximately 20 minutes south of Puerto del Rosario, the islands capital. There is a local bus service, which runs every 30 minutes and provides air-conditioned coaches for the trip, which at Euro.1.20 is an extremely cheap and easy way to get around.

The town of Caleta de Fuste (also known as Castillo) is often referred to as a holiday village. The man made beach has been carefully constructed to avoid currents and is in the shape of a horseshoe. This ensures it is perfectly safe for children of all ages. Those wanting to be a little more adventurous can go diving, hire jet skis or learn to windsurf at the water centre on the beach. The harbour is home to many yachts, catamarans and boats that provide local trips as well as providing a beautiful backdrop in the evenings.

There is a multitude of good restaurants in Caleta that can cater for all tastes at very reasonable prices. Steaks and local fish are particularly good, however there are also Chinese, Indian, Greek and English restaurants all within a close area. Additionally there are also a number of good supermarkets within the local area.

The main selling point about Caleta is that everything is within walking distance, the beach, the shops, the restaurants and bars, so it is perfect for those who do not want the hassle of having to drive every day.

Fly to Puerto del Rosario (the capital of the island) - Caleta de Fuste is situated approximately 10Km south of the airport.

A regular bus service is available to Caleta or transfer can be arranged directly to the Villa with Juan, our property manager, at an additional cost. There are also local taxis available - the fare should be no more than 20 euros.

A car can be hired at the airport from one of the Major and local Car Hire companies based at the airport although prior booking would be advisable. You can also easily hire a car in Caleta.

Regular flights are available from the UK; the most common days being Wednesdays & Saturdays. There are flights on Sundays but these tend to be from Gatwick or Manchester.

All bed linen and towels are provided but we would ask you please to provide your own beach towels.

Our terms require a £100 deposit on booking with the balance being paid at least 21 days prior to arrival
