About the home

Our beautiful duplex has its own mini back garden and tiled front patio, complete with patio table, chairs, sun-loungers and an upstairs balcony with all day sunshine.

The lounge has a sofa bed that converts to a comfortable double sofa bed,( new August 2012) a satellite TV with BBC 1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 and 5, Channel 4 films and a CD system. The fully fitted kitchen is equipped with hob, oven fridge, microwave, washing machine, kettle and toaster and all the cooking utensils you will need. There is a downstairs cloakroom with toilet and small hand-basin.

The upstairs bathroom has a , toilet, shower and basin. The main bedroom has a king sized bed (usable as two singles) fitted wardrobe, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. The bedroom opens onto the upstairs balcony.
The apartment has its own Safe.

Bed linen and towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.

Our house-book contains lots of information about local transport, places of interest, things to do, car hires and favourite restaurants to help our guests have a wonderful holiday.

Castillo Mar is very family friendly as well as being suitable for couples, and single people. The complex is very pleasant and conveniently located next to the Happy Sol centre that has a good selection of family friendly cafes, restaurants and bars that serve very reasonably priced breakfasts, snacks, and main meals from early morning to late evening.

The complex has its own sunloungers and parasols for guest use.

Our apartment is non smoking, however We would be happy for guests to smoke outside of our apartment or on the terrace.please use ash trays.

Conditions

We do not ask for a deposit against breakages. We would ask that guests let us know of any breakages or accidental damage so that we can put this right before the next guests arrive. Payment for any breakages will be discussed with guests.

We do ask for a deposit of 50 Euros for keys. This deposit is paid on your arrival and returned to you when you leave Castillo Mar by our local key holders.

The Fuerteventura region

Fuerteventura enjoys year round sunshine. It is a beautiul Island with plenty to see and do. Part of the Island is one of Spain's National Parks with a bird and wildlife sanctuary. To the north of the island are the beautiful white sand beaches at Corralejo. Go Inland (the islnd is only 20 miles across at its broadest) and you will find small traditional villages with local cheeses, wines and craft goods for sale. To the south of the island is the wildlife park and the recently opened water park at Corralejo.

The Caleta de Fuste / Central Caleta area

Calete de Fuste has everything you wil need for a great holiday, lots of restaurants, bars and a few night clubs. Good local supermarkets, shops and banks. The market is weekly on a Saturday.

Calete's shops, bars and restaurants are located just two minutes walk from our apartment.

The new 18 hole golf course, which hosted the 2004 Spanish open is a 10 minute walk away.

Castillo Mar is less than 3 minutes walk to Calete de Fuste's lovely sandy beach. It is extremely safe for swimming and excellent for families. On the beach you can go camel riding (if you wish!) or just relax in the warm sunshine. The beach leads to the harbour where you can go scuba diving, wind surfing, see the seals, take excursions or eat in one of the harbour restaurants.

There are many good restaurants and places to eat that will cater for those that want to eat the local fish and seafood plus a wide assortment of international restaurants.

Fly from all main UK airports to Puerto del Rosario Airport, Fuerteventura. Check online for cheap flights - Monarch, XL and First Choice fly to Fuerteventura.
Taxis available directly outside airport. It Costs 15 Euros to Calete De Fuste and takes about 10 minutes.

“Clean apartment, Central Location” My Wife and I stayed at no.8 Castillo and my father-in law stayed at no. 9. Both apartments spacious and clean. Complex quite nice but pool was being maintained and was closed. Location was fantastic. great local restaurants...a meal at El Capitain is a must! You MUST book though!! Also, margarite restaurant is great. Beach is fantastic. Weather was indifferent from 6th Feb...cloudy and windy the first few days. Sunny intervals and very windy rest of week. Get out of the wind and the sun is very hot. I got burnt on my head after an hours walk! Overall impressions of area was that it was a bit tired and needed some tender love and care. Area is clean and tidy though

“Excellent place to stay” A lovely apartment everything you need there for your stay, The sun shines into your bedroom, whitch is lovely on a morning to sit on the balcany with tea and toast. Everybody so nice, pool area great, a place to suit all. Wll be booking again.

“all day sunshine” lovely clean apartment with very comfy beds. sun on bedroom balcony first thing and on the back patio in the afternoon. central for everything 2min to supermarket and restaurants 5 mins to town centre. Taxi transfers arranged by owner good idea. First time in caleta would certainly return to this apartment Pool area has been fenced to prevent youngsters from wandering in or out .

“compact and comfy” A very enjoyable stay at No 9 Castillo Mar. This was also our first ever holiday booked independently from a travel agent. Collected from the airport by taxi that had been arranged through the owner. Very nice and friendly complex with sunbeds and pool. Duplex clean and tidy. Quiet but central to shops, restaurants and beach which was great as you did not have to travel fare. Got to go and feed the chipmunks.

“Exceeded all our expectations” I cannot emphasis enough how much we loved our holiday at Castillo Mar 9. This was our first ever holiday booked independently from a travel agent, so was a bit worried all might not go to plan. How wrong I was, we were collected from the airport by taxi, arranged through the owner. The driver had the keys and within 20 minutes we were in the apartment. It was absolutely spotlessly clean, bright and homely. The internet pictures didn't do it enough justice in my opinion. The kitchen was really well equipped, the beds were very clean and comfy and we were able to relax immediately. The local restaurants are inexpensive and plentiful, we hired bikes for 8 euros for 24hrs just at the end of the road, and the beaches were beautiful. My daughter and her family are going to book a holiday there on our recommendation. Will we go back? You bet!
