Although this apartment is not new, it is roomy and airy with a very large living area. The garden and pool are wonderful.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia/Barcelona region
This area of the Costa Brava is by far a part of the most beautiful stretch of the Spanish coastline.
Whitewashed ex fisherman’s houses, rugged pine clad coast and sandy bays. No high rise hotels or package tours. It is very much back to basics – wonderful scenery, crystal waters, good walks and to top it all great food and wine!
Frequented by a mixture of nationalities and especially popular with locals from Barcelona and Girona many of whom own second homes in the area.
Inland is not to be missed either – there are numerous stone built medieval villages with restaurants and boutiques selling local produce and ceramics. A day out in the Pyrenees is a two hour drive.
Barcelona is a good idea to make a twin centre holiday.
The Calella de Palafrugell area
Calella de Palafrugell has a string of bays all good for swimming. There are a number of restaurants on the shore allowing you to lunch/dine for a reasonable price. Nightlife is very low key and concentrates mainly around the bars and cafés. There are a couple of supermarkets and a local market daily 3 kms away in the main town of Palafrugell.
Llafranc twenty minutes on foot from Calella has again a selection of restaurants and hotels with a small port at one end. A hike up to the lighthouse at St Sebastian gives you a wonderful view of the surrounding area.
Tamariu is another small village with the same style with one small sandy bay and beautifully preserved and very pretty.
All villages have diving centres, some sailing schools, boats/canoes for hire. A car is a good idea to explore and to get the most out of your stay.

****NEW FLIGHTS :- After a break RYANAIR are putting on a large selection of flights from the UK and other European airports this Spring 2013.. GIRONA AIRPORT is a short drive from Calella de Palafrugell (40 mins) (www.ryanair.com often sold as Barcelona/Girona). The roads are good and all is well sign posted.
Barcelona airport is approx 1 hour 45 mins away by hire car .. ...
SARFBUS- have a bus link from Barcelona centre (estacion del norte) and now from BARCELONA AIRPORT. (estacion del norte) and Girona railway station to Palafrugell 3kms from the coast.
BY CAR .. we are approx 1 hour from the French boarder at 'La Jonquera'
