Nestled in the Caldbeck Fells in the northern Lakes is Crofthead, an idyllic chocolate box cottage with stunning views across open pasture and high Lakeland fells. The cottage is located in the small village of Hesket Newmarket just a short drive from Caldbeck on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Crofthead boasts both charm and character with quality new and antique furnishings creating cosy, homely accommodation for a family of five or small group of friends. Bedroom 1 is situated on the ground floor and with a clockroom also on this level it makes it a good room for those with mobility difficulties. The further two bedrooms are on the first floor of which one can be made to either a double or twin to suit your requirements. The main living room is a great place to relax with solid oak beams, a wood burning stove and TV, DVD player, Ipod dock and radio as well as unlimited Wi-fi. Outside the garden offers up lovely views and garden furniture for all guests to enjoy.

The Lake District National Park lies at the heart of Cumbria and contains well known and much loved holiday destinations such as Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere, here there are lots of charming Lakeland villages to discover and visitor attractions for all the family. The northern and western lakes have miles of untouched natural rugged beauty and rural villages as well as being home to the historic northern lakes town of Keswick with its many shops, pubs and restaurants; providing a great holiday base. Other areas to discover include the Eden Valley, Cartmel peninsula, south east Cumbria and the Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall area; all equally beautiful and very handy for day trips into the lakes.

Caldbeck

This quiet corner of the Lakes is ideal not only for walking, but also cycling with a fantastic network of quiet country lanes and a bridleways with superb scenery at every turn. Caldbeck is just down the road from Crofthead and has a number of traditional pubs, a cafe which was once a watermill and a Priest's Mill which is home to Caldbeck Jewellers, an ideal place to buy gifts for loved ones. Keswick, the main hub in the Lakes is 13 miles south where there are a number of attractions including a swimming pool, golf club, two parks, Mirehouse House and the Theatre by the Lake. Walks can be enjoyed around the lake of Derwentwater or more extensive routes up the fells which surround the town, Skiddaw, Catbells and Latrigg.
