The Goa region
The exotic jewel in India's crown, Goa is fairly unique in that it is a Christian state, owing to its colonisation by the Portuguese. Remnants of this era still survive but the area is a true cultural melting pot, with mix of western and Indian cultures combining to create a fascinating environment for those on a short stay, or those with more time to spare. The climate is fantastic, staying hot all year, although the monsoon runs from early May to late October.
Calangate / Baga Beach area
Baga and Calungate lie roughly 10km from Mapusa, and the one blends into the other. Lively bars are strewn along the beachfront, offering juices and cocktails for you to relax with as you soak up the sun or revel in the glow of the spectacular sunsets. Get a massage, enjoy one of the many different cuisines available, check out the vibrant flea-market or head out to Tito's for some serious nightlife.
The apartment is only 10 minutes stroll away from the beautiful Baga Beach and Calungate.
Arpora Village is only 3 minutes away. Here you will find plenty of bars restaurants and supermarkets. There is also a night-market which has some great bargains (gold/silver/silk e.t.c.) accompanied by music, food and drink.
