The Costa del Sol region
The Costa del Sol has everything you need from great beaches to superb golf courses to stunning lakes and mountains. Gibraltar is an hour and half away and is great for duty free shopping, (but don't forget your passport). The historic city of Granada is only two hours away and in winter offers great skiing. There are a number of ports near by from the busy, glitzy and glamorous Puerto Banus to the romantic and understated Cabopino. Locally there is a great selection of bars/restaurants,the closest being 5 mins walk away .Calahonda is an all year round resort! In fact there is so much for you do you will need to come back and visit again to see it all.
The apartment is a short walk from a couple of excellent restaurants,bars and a supermarket,and a fantastic large kids play area with great views over the med ,its also situated near various golf courses, the closest being Mira Flores and Siesta, more info below Calahonda has a a vibrant strip of bars and superb restaurants which is a short walk down hill,(taxi back after all the great food available ) There are a number of fantastic beaches and beach clubs within a 5/10 minute drive, the famous Nikki beach is only 7 minutes away by car. When you have had enough relaxing ,there are great shopping facilities near by, you can choose from either one of the local town centres or one of the many out of town shopping malls La canada is about 10/15 mins where you can shop and eat til you drop .Marbella is 10 mins away and is a must visit during the day for shopping or the beach ,or in the evening take a stroll along the marina for tapas in one of the many fantastic local tapas bars or sit in the famous orange square for a drink and a bite to eat and watch the world go by YOULL LOVE IT !!
Calahonda is an ALL YEAR ROUND RESORT and you will find plenty of bars and restaurants open throughout the year, the majority are English speaking so no problems in ordering what you want! 3 main areas of Calahonda being the 'Strip', the 'El Zoco' complex and the 'Dona Lola' complex. The nearest bar/restaurants and well stocked mini-market are a 5 minute walk.
The closest golf course is only 2 minutes away! however the BIGGEST GOLFING COMPLEX in Spain at the La Cala Resort is only 10 minutes away with a further 30 courses under 20Km! Also for the sport enthusiast the large Costa Del Sol Tennis Club is also only 2 minutes away and has plenty of courts, squash, gym and sauna all payable on a daily basis.
Other than Calahonda's own Royal beach, two fabulous beaches, ideal for children, with sun beds, beach bars, water sports and life guards in high season, can be found at La Cala and Capobino both only a 5 minute drive along the N340. Capobino also has its own Marina and is known locally as the 'Hidden Jewel' of this coast!
Within 15 minutes drive of the apartment you can easily reach all the following family attractions:
Tivoli World amusement park, Sea Life Centre, Cable Cars at Benalmedena, Marine Land, Aqualand, Fuengirola Zoo & the Crocodile Park.....to name a few, a great day out for the whole family has to be at Selwo adventure park just a 20 minute drive away. Resorts easily reached in 20 minutes drive and under from our apartment include Marbella, Puerto Banus, Mijas a lovely mountain 'White' village, La Cala, Fuengirola, Benalmedena, Torremolinos further details on each resort can be found. For those who like to explore further a field, then the famous Spanish (and one of the most photographed!) village of Casares is around 45 mins, Gibralter 1hr, Ronda 1hr 30 mins and well worth the 1hr 30 min drive inland is the 'stunning' Ardales National Park, photos, details and directions to this area can be found on line.

"Lovely, well kept apartment in good location."
This apartment is spacious and modern. It is well maintained and furnished and will comfortably sleep 6 people. The balcony/terrace is huge with a nice seating area which is perfect for BBQ's and sunbathing. Being a penthouse apartment there are lovely views of the surrounding towns and coast.
An ideal place to go with family or friends. We had a great time & would love to go back!
We dealt directly with the owner when booking, who was very efficient, helpful and accommodating. All in all a great holiday apartment.

I have stayed at this apartment for the last two years now and am planning on returning back in July next year. The apartment has all the mod-cons, is very clean and has a lovely large balcony which goes around the length of the apartment ideal for drinks & BBQs. We very much enjoyed our stay there, the apartments location is perfect for us with beaches, shops and restaurants a short distance away and a selection of pools to choose from at the complex. A really brilliant holiday.

"very dissapointing, filthy !!!!"
On arriving at villa, straight away we were so dissapointed with the cleanliness. The kitchen, the appliances had not been cleaned from the previous tenants, the microwave and fridge were shocking. The bathrooms were dirty, the blind in the one bathroom was a hazard. Couldnt use the bath in the ensuite the whole time we were there due to something coming through the plug hole, this was reported the day we got there and nothing was done about it. Unsafe plug sockets, a particular lamp in the lounge was a hazard. After complaining to the owner, a cleaner was drafted in that afternoon, who was a lovely lady and commented herself the shocking state it had been left in. Finger nails left in draws, sticky dusty wardrobes, cobwebs around dining room table and chair legs. The kitchen and bathrooms were cleaned by the lovely lady, but all the other above points were not. The lady who handed us the keys on arrival said if we wanted to use the barbecue to clean it after we use it.....we didnt use it due to the state it had been left in. The location of the apartment is ok, very quiet, the pool area for us was great. Princess Park itself is nice, very quiet and well maintained. However i would not recommend this particular villa. It needs revamping and a througher clean.

"Great family destination"
penthouse well furnished and maintained; v. comfortable beds. barbeque great for cooking local fish! quiet and away from crowds so need a car to visit beaches etc.. grounds well maintained - pools fabulous for tiny people! handover smooth and friendly - a problem free holiday thank you

"Great place to stay :-)"
The penthouse was well designed and spacious, with a great terrace area for any time of the day. Excellently located, within walking distance to good restaurants and just a short drive to the beach and waterfront. We enjoyed several days by the pool, and even managed to cook up a great barbecue one evening. There were only 4 of us staying in the apartment on this occasion but it is amply big enough for 6, roll on our next visit :-)
