A brand new two bedroom penthouse apartment overlooking Calahonda, a most sought after holiday destination in the heart of the Costa del Sol, situated midway between Marbella and Fuengirola.
Las Palmeras is a fabulous holiday retreat in the upper part of Calahonda with spectacular views to the Mediterranean sea and the coast. On a clear day, when the sun is not too hazy, you can even see Morocco and the remarkable skyline over the Atlas mountains. The complex is gated and very private with communal swimming pools and grassy sunbathing areas. You are very close, a short downhill walk, to the local mini market, legendary pizza restaurant “Miel y Nata” and the Millenium lounge bar. A short 2 minute drive takes you into the heart of Calahonda with many lively bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, banks, pharmacy, and other amenities. Calahonda also has a 9 hole par 3 golf course at La Siesta, a tennis club and many children's parks and play areas. The beaches at Calahonda are simple with traditional chiringuitos (beach bar/restaurant) to sample freshly caught sardines, other fish and seafood, all providing sunbeds and parasols.

The apartment is newly built with modern fittings and appliances and tastefully furnished throughout, with cream marble floors and decorated in neutral tones – it will suit young and old and families wanting to escape the bustle and crowds yet still have a busy resort two minutes away by car, taxi or the Calahonda mini motorised train. There are two bedrooms, the master having a kingsize double bed, with patio doors opening on to the terrace with spectacular sea views and also an en suite bathroom. The second bedroom has two single beds with patio doors opening directly on to the terrace. Both bedrooms have ample wardrobe space.
There is a large family shower room/WC.
There is an impressive open plan living area with two comfortable leather sofas (one unfolds to become a double bed) with two sets of patio doors leading onto the terrace. There is a flat screen TV and DVD player. The formal dining table has seating for 6 however there is a magnificent table and chairs on the terrace for dining al fresco.
The kitchen is modern with white units and fitted with quality appliances to include dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer and microwave.
The apartment is fitted with wifi broadband/ADSL.

As mentioned above this corner penthouse has a huge terrace, enjoying mountain views to the east and magnificent sea and coastal views to the south and west. You can see the entire coastline stretching from Malaga through to Gibraltar, and across to Morocco on a bright clear day. To enjoy these views the terrace is furnished with matching rattan lounging and dining furniture including a large sofa and two arm chairs for relaxing and a large round dining table with 6 chairs for dining al fresco. There is also a large corner Jacuzzi (with a cover for safety) to cool off during the balmy days or unwind during the evenings. There is a gas BBQ, and sun beds plus reclining sun lounging chairs. The outside space of this apartment is truly exceptional.
The community has many communal pools, one pool is devoted to and sits immediately in front of this block of 22 apartments. The pool never gets overly busy even during the height of summer. There is a shower by the pool and toilet.

Calahonda is a small enclave belonging to Mijas and has every amenity needed for a relaxing holiday, with safe beaches, many shops, banks, supermarkets, pharmacy, cafes, bars and restaurants of all types to suit all tastes. Las Palmeras is a tranquil community in the upper part of Calahonda, and from here it is just a 5 minute drive to the beach and all of these amenities.
Calahonda has great facilities right on your door step with a nine hole par 3 golf course at La Siesta, a tennis club and gymnasium at Club del Sol, parks and children play areas plus there is the Calahonda Train, taking a circular route all around Calahonda which you can hop on and off at any point - it stops very close to the entrance of Las Palmeras. There are many small beaches at Calahonda all with Chiringuitos (beach restaurant) where you can sample freshly caught fish, seafood and paella.
The delightful port of Cabopino is 10 minutes drive and is another fantastic place to chill out, relax in one of the marina bars and restaurants and watch the world drift by. The beach at Cabopino is a favourite local hot spot, where the bay is so shallow it is perfect for the little ones or there is a surf school and water sports for the older kids.
Calahonda is superbly located to enjoy a varied holiday on the Costa del Sol, being equidistant from both Marbella to the west and Fuengirola to the east, each just 15 minutes drive in the car or by regular public transport. Marbella old town and the famous Plaza de los Naranjos is worthy of a visit, the jet set of Puerto Banus is fascinating to people watch and the castle at Fuengirola has magnificent views of the coast. If you want to play golf at a world class course, then the options are endless but close by you have Santana, El Chaparral, La Cala Resort, Marbella Golf, Santa Clara, Rio Real, Los Naranjos, to name just a few.
