Home description

This two bedroom garden apartment is in the beautiful gardens and surroundings of Miraflores, with all the sports facilities it has to offer. For your convenience, there is satellite television, with two and three seater sofas, in the spacious lounge area. There is a dining area or you may prefer to have meals on the patio, looking out over the gardens. There is a bathroom with bath/shower and washing machine, with built in wardrobes in the bedrooms.

The patio leads onto a garden, which is separate from the pool area. The shared pool is accessed by a short path and has a small, friendly bar providing light meals. There is parking right outside the apartment and 24 hour security patrols. There are restaurants, shops, golf, beach, gymnasium and sailing facilities nearby.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

Miraflores is in the Costa del Sol region of southern Spain, on the Mediterranean coastline. It is between Malaga (to the east) and Marbella (to the west), both towns offering a wide shopping experience with many tree lined squares and piazzas providing a place to stop for a meal or refreshments. Gibraltar is a 70 minute drive away and makes a pleasant, and historical day out. To the north is Ronda, reached by an interesting drive through the hills, which has the oldest bull ring in Spain and is in a very picturesque setting. To the north east and only a 20 minute drive away is the rustic little village of Mijas which has many shops and restaurants along is tiny, winding streets; old churches and lovely coastal views. For designer shopping and a nautical setting, Puerto Banus is a short drive away. Puerto Cabo Pino (a five minute drive towards Marbella) is a very attractive, small port with excellent restaurants and a popular beach. Various boat trips are available from here.

Calahonda / Miraflores area

Miraflores is a beautiful complex, set in well established and landscaped gardens. There is Miraflores beach on the coast and Miraflores Golf in the hills. In the central area is the main club with pools, restaurants and bars and there are several tennis courts (with coaching available) and lawn bowls. Along the coastline there is easy access to many supermarkets, banks, medical centres, chemists and garages. There are also gymnasium and fitness venues. The nearby village of La Cala has a popular beach and twice weekly markets and horse racing at the Hippodrome. Every July the village holds a wonderful festival with a fun fair late into the night.

There are many activities for families with several waterparks in the area and towards Benalmadena (about 20 minutes drive) is Tivoli World Amusement Park, Selwo Wildlife Park and an Aquaruim. Horse riding, with hacking in the hills, is available at several nearby locations and there are many fascinating equestrian shows in the area boasting the excellence of the renowned Andalucian Stallions.

In addition, there are many sailing and windsurfing courses/hire available, with fishing and dolphin trips along the coast. The selection of golf courses and driving ranges is exceptional.

All these activities can be enjoyed in a region which boasts more than 300 days of sunshine per year!

Miraflores is on the N340 about 30 minutes drive from Malaga airport. Most major car hire companies are available at the airport or book through www.miraflores.com. There are also taxis available for hire.
