Set in a quiet and peaceful complex of Gran Calahonda, and only fifteen minutes drive from the larger resorts such as Marbella or Fuengirola the apartment has easy access to all amenities, including shops, supermarkets, local markets for bargain hunting, and minutes walk to El Zoco to the many excellent bars restaurants to eat out.
The apartment design means that an ideal temperature throughout the year, cool in the summer and warm in the winter can be obtained although hot and cold air conditioning is installed through out. which is not on a meter. For added comfort there are ceiling fans installed in the bedrooms and the lounge.
The ground floor apartment which overlooks the immaculately kept gardens in manicured surroundings and superbly looked after is ideally located especially when you are holidaying with small children as the large spacious balcony with lockable safety gate is furnished with table and chairs which seats 6 people has steps down to the largest swimming pool with a children’s pool perfect for those little ones to play. Although unheated all 3 pools are beautifully warm in the summer. A lifeguard is available throughout the summer months.
There are sun beds and umbrellas by the pool but in case there is a shortage the apartment has its own sun beds (2) and cushions for comfort. With one double, one twin bedroom, and two bathrooms the apartment is ideal for families, with plenty of places to visit in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

BEDROOM 1
The largest bedroom is fitted with air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Equipped with a king size bed, bedside tables with lamps, fitted wardrobes and a chest of drawers and a fully equipped en suite bathroom with a bath with shower, toilet, bidet and wash basin. Patio door access to the sun terrace, fitted with grills and shutters.
BEDROOM 2
The second bedroom is fitted with air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Equipped with twin beds, fitted wardrobes, a bedside table with lamp and an additional TV for use of a play station or Xbox (not supplied). This bedroom is also fitted with grills and shutters.
BATHROOM 1
The large bathroom is adjacent to the double bedroom acting as a en suite. This is equipped with a bath with shower, shower screen, toilet, bidet and wash basin.
SHOWER ROOM
The shower room is equipped with a shower, toilet and hand basin.
KITCHEN
The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric cooker with ceramic hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, washing machine, iron, ironing board a safe and all necessary utensils. A cool bag with ice packs is also available for use to take to the beach. 1st Aid box is also provided.
LOUNGE
The spacious open plan lounge/dining room also has air conditioning two settees, a LCD satellite TV offering all the major channels, a DVD player, a CD player and a dining table that’s seats six. For additional channel viewing bring along you SKY card and it should work (however premium paid channels do not). Books and board games are provided for clients use.
Hot and cold air conditioning is installed without a meter; however the apartment design means that an ideal temperature throughout the year, cool in the summer and warm in the winter can be obtained. The ceiling fans installed through out should be all that is needed to cool you down. Continental quilts and throws are also available should they be needed for the winter months. An additional heating panel is installed in the lounge and a portable heater available when a quick blast of instant heat is required.
TERRACE/BALCONY
The large spacious lit gated terrace over looks the largest of the 3 swimming pools. The steps down to the pool are ideal for families holidaying with small children and for those very hot days when you want to nip indoors to cool off or eat al fresco.
A large table and 8 chairs, 2 sun loungers cushions provided, ample outdoor beach games, beach chair plus beach umbrella and inflatable’s for you to use while your on holiday.
All I ask is that you water my plants while you are there.

The complex is accessed through secured gates to maintain privacy and security and is manned by a guard from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am daily. The apartment is fitted with grills and gates through out for added security. The apartment also has internal intercom facility with video phone to view calling guests at the main gate.
There is a lift in the apartment building and wheelchair access through the garage.
There is a paddle tennis court, 5 a side football pitch, shared outdoor pools (3) (unheated) with toilets and shower, shared gardens, children’s pools (3) and a lifeguard attendant is present during the summer months. There is ample lay by parking available and a dedicated underground parking spot adjacent to the lift area.

Flexible arrival and departure times provided details are agreed at the time of booking. Without prior agreement during peak periods access is after 16:00 p.m. on the day of arrival, departure by 10:00 a.m.
Maximum of 4 persons allowed in the apartment (we can accommodate 1 baby/ toddler in addition with the use of the travel cot). No cot linen provided.
Bedding & towels are provided for the duration of your stay. Please bring your own beach towels, the apartment will be cleaned after your stay. Additional cleaning can be provided if holidaying for more than 2 weeks if requested and agreed at the time of booking at €70 per clean.
Welcome Packs are available if requested and agreed at the time of booking €20 basic, including water, eggs, bread, milk and butter, paid locally.
Airport Pick ups:
We can book an airport pick up on your behalf. This costs approx €40/45 subject to change without prior notice; this is price per car (up to 4 people) each way. The drivers are English and you will be required to pay the driver direct in Euros once you reach the complex.
Whilst hiring a car is not necessary due to public transport links,to get the most from your holiday it is advised. If your holiday is about relaxation without the need to drive that works too.
Conditions
Strictly no smoking except on the balcony ashtrays are provided.
Additional cleaning charges will be charged if the apartment is not left in a satisfactory state after property inspection and will be taken out of the security deposit.
A non refundable deposit of 25% (£100.00 min) is required to secure all bookings, balance of holiday due 8 weeks before travel. Keys will not be dispatched until full payment has been received. Keys will be sent via Royal Mail recorded delivery service where applicable clients are expected to use the same service at their cost within 2 days of returning to the UK.
£100.00 Security deposit is required – Refundable after property inspection (STANDARD PRACTICE)
Lost of keys will be charged at £50, if a representative is required to attend with spare keys then an additional €20 will be charged to be paid locally to the representative.

The Costa del Sol region
The larger resorts of Marbella (10-15 minutes drive), Puerto Banus (15-20 minutes drive), and the market town of La Cala (6 minutes drive) can all be reached using the inexpensive local bus service. Walk to the lovely nearby small 'resorts' where you can eat out try Dona Lola, Max's Beach, or Calypso where the local market is held on Thursdays.
The Costa del Sol has a lot to offer and is renowned for its many clean beautiful beaches, resorts, golf courses and the excellent weather. The Costa del Sol has on average over 320 days of sunshine each year and is an ideal location for an off peak break when you are longing for sun, sea and clear blue skies.
Apart from sunbathing, shopping and golfing activities there is plenty to do and see in the region, beautiful countryside in the nearby mountains, historic towns such as Mijas with its breathtaking views over the coast and the former fishing village and market town of La Cala de Mijas which is only 10mins drive from the apartment where the local market is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Visit the water parks at Fuengirola or Torremolinos, the zoo at Fuengirola, the crocodile park, markets are held throughout the coast and the famous Tivoli World are only a short drive away and you will be ideally located for a trip to Gibraltar and the historical city of Malaga.

Have a day out shopping in La Canada, Plaza Major or Miramar within easy reach of the apartment.
The Calahonda / Sitio de Calahonda area
Calahonda is situated in Mijas Costa between Fuengirola to the north, and Marbella to the south. It is an ideal location from which to explore the Costa del Sol and surrounding areas and is only 25 minutes drive from Malaga airport.
Calahonda has its own un-kept natural beach only 5mins walk away from the apartment but just 6 mins drive away is the beautiful beach at Puerto Cabopino, where you can walk around the Marina or dine at one of the many restaurants or beach bars.
There are an extensive range of bars and restaurants available in Calahonda/El Zoco to suit all tastes but cater mostly to the English tourist, providing entertainment for those who wish to unwind and relax. Walk up to the Avda da Espana known locally as the strip and find even more bars and restaurants on offer.
Local amenities in El Zoco include banks, gift shops, money exchange, travel agents, cash points, internet cafe a supermarket and there is also a medical centre nearby. The area is also predominately English speaking.
For those who want a more lively time, the nearby resorts of Fuengirola, Marbella and Puerto Banus will provide a vast choice of bars, restaurants and clubs.

All the well established airlines and budget airlines fly to Malaga from most UK airports
Then travel to the apartment, hiring a car or take the train from the airport to Fuengirola and then bus up the coast to Sitio Calahonda or using a taxi (taxi fare approx 55 Euros). The apartment is 25 minutes from Malaga Airport and is easy to find leaving the first exist off the toll road. Toll charges vary depending on the season.

My wife and I and two friends have recently returned back from Apartment Gran Calahonda, which we have been returning to for a few years. The apartment is lovely and is ideally located for an easy walk to the immaculate supermarket across the road and a little further to the many bars and restaurants. We love Los Olivios the food is excellent and great value and anyone should give it a try. The many restaurants in El Zoco do cater mostly for the English tourist which we do appreciate. However different cuisines can be found further afield if you want them. The apartment is set in Gran Calahonda complex which is impeccably kept the gardeners are out daily tending to its every need. The complex plus apartment security is second to non with electric gates and a guard around nightly, we feel very safe. The fact that the apartment is on the ground floor is what we love especially when you need to get out of the mid day sun. As you can just sit on the terrace and watch the others bake. If you have small children you have the added benefit of a lockable small gate to keep them safe. The apartment itself is very well equip and has everything you need its well designed with air conditioning an added bonus plus ceiling fans that enable you to sleep well on those hot nights. It's location is very close to the largest of three swimming pools but not on top of it and all pools have a small children's pool attached, the attendant cleans the pools daily which is also good to see. We don't do the beach but it is only a few minutes walk away but it's a natural beach so no sun beds for hire like others on the coast which you can drive to. The many markets along the coast are great which we taxi to however a new market in Calypso On Thursdays is walking distance which again is a bonus. We have booked again next year as for us its great and we love it. |
