It has a huge range of leisure facilities, both beach and rural with numerous golf courses, zoos and attractions, conference centres, marinas, etc The Costa del Sol is also known as the Gulf Coast and has the largest concentration of golf courses in Andalucía and the European continent.
The Calahonda / Calahonda Beach area
There are numerous places of interest nearby, Ronda, Benahavis, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Gibraltar, Selwo Marina, Benalmadena Pueblo to name but a few. Day trips to Morocco, The Alhambra Palace in Granada
Activities include water sports, golf, swimming, nearby tennis, water parks, zoos and a Safari Park.
It is possible to walk to Cabopino Marina along the beach from the apartment which has numerous bars, restaurants and water sports.

If your main priority is to sit in a sunny location overlooking a lovely beach, then this is the place for you. My husband and I spent a week of mainly good weather in January at Calahonda Beach, and can vouch for its superb location in a part of Calahonda that is peaceful, yet just 5 minutes walk to a multitude of shops and restaurants. The only noise was the crashing of the waves on the beach, which unfortunately kept me awake every night – I am a light sleeper and should have realised that would happen. The apartment is situated in a small complex with well-kept gardens. It has a very private balcony with a wonderful view out to sea and along the beach to the east. On a clear day we could see the African coast, and to the west, Gibraltar, but unfortunately a 15-story apartment block about 200 metres away dominates the westerly view. The apartment is quite old and needs a bit of updating – for instance old window shutters that rattled in the wind. The apartment does occupy possibly the best spot in the complex and has the top two floors in a 3-storey block. It is south facing and got sun all day, but it may possibly be very hot in summer (no air conditioning). The washing machine and small dishwasher were much appreciated. The flat-screen TV had plenty of English satellite channels, but the worst sound quality I have ever heard – making speech almost unintelligible. The balcony was equipped with a barbecue, a table, 4 chairs and 2 sun-loungers, but in dire need of new cushions. Calahonda appears to be a rather tired area on a busy coastal 'motorway'. Fortunately you can't see or hear the motorway from the apartment, and you can easily cross it by footbridge or underpass to the shops. There are some interesting places on the coast within a mile or two, but there are no footpaths to them and it is difficult walking along the beach with its soft sand. The complex has a large unsecured car park a few yards away, and there is also limited parking on the road, but this is on a blind bend. I would recommend taking a bus from the top of the road if you want to go to Marbella, because it costs 3 euros an hour to park there. In summary, this sunny apartment has a spectacular sea view, and if you don't mind a few disadvantages, it is very good value for money. We enjoyed our stay. |

We spent Christmas and New Year here. Brilliant location right on the beach, and the apartment is well equiped with everything you could posibly need for a perfect holiday.Good selection of restaurants within walking distance.We hope to visit again in the future. |

We stayed in this apartment in May 2012. The location was ideal, on the beach, and shops and bars all within a short walk. The apartment was in excellent condition with full modern amenities, very comfortable beds. The sun terrace has excellent sun loungers and bbq facilites. The complex itself was well maintained and very secure. Would be delighted to recommend this apartment. We hope to go back ourselves in 2013. |
