Home description
The Holiday home Casa Joana Pou is a fully restored holiday home. The house has 3 floors, 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. 2 rooms are sharing one bathrooms en suite (entrance from both rooms) which is excellent for the children in one (3 beds) and a parents bedroom. The other 3 bedrooms have all bathrooms en suite. The top floor is a small room for the children or teenagers to read, listen to music or just redraw and relax. The living room, kitchen and dining room are all large and got all you need.
The house has a separate smaller house with room for conference or a big dinner (capacity 20-30 persons). The house has alle the needed tecnical gear for confrences and a all new, very modern kitchen, designed to prepared food delivered as catering.
Outside, there is a lot of space and high level of privacy since there are no neighbours at all. The swimming pool is fenced which is a relaxing factor if your party has any small children. The distance to Barcelona is only 90 km.´, which is really hard to believe ones you are there, because the surrounding mountains (pre Pyrenees) makes you are fare away from the stressful life in a European metropol. This is really a brilliant base for a vacation.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region
The house which is an authentic Catalan limestone villa, modernised with respect for the original style, is situated in the Bergueda region, where the Llobregat-river winds it is way from the mountains down toward Barcelona. The house provides a perfect base for relaxation. Read a book, take a swim in the pool and enjoy the hot summer nights on the terrace with a glass of the local cava or red wine from the nearby Penedes district.
The landscape at the entrance to the Pyrenees is dominated by small rivers, hills, fields and forest, which provides excellent conditions for a variety of sports- and outdoor activities, such as hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, angling, canoeing, river crafting or perhaps a visit to the owners farm.
Furthermore the central location in Catalonia makes every corner of province accessible in one-day excursions. From the Dali-museum in the north, the Costa Brava coastline and Barcelona in the south and further south Tarragon with its amphitheatre and universal studios amusement park for the kids. A generous and cosy region, with true cultural, gastronomical, artistic, historical, traditional and legendary treasures. Also a region for the playful who loves sport activities.
In the winther, the ski-resorts in Andorra and the Pyrenees is only a 45 minutes drive away. In the summer you can enjoy the tracks of the Pyrenees or for the adventures paragliding or climbing. The spring (march-may) in Catalonia is sunny, green and comfortable warm. The daily temp. reaches 16-22 degrees.
The autumn (Sep.-Nov) is very warm in the beginning (Sep.) with a daily average temp. reaching 27 degrees. October and November has an average temp. starting at 22 in October ending with 17 in November.
Calaf / Pujalt area
Puig-Reig: 8 km. A very nice village with 5 restaurants, shopping possibilities, Cafe´s and a excellent baker.
Gironella: 12 km from Casa Joana A cosy little town at the bank of the river Llobregat. We provide a map of shops, restaurants and good places to shop for grocery
Berga:15 km. from Casa Joana: Quite a large town on the edge of the Pyrenees, where you’ll find big supermarkets, really nice restaurants, shopping areas, and bars. It is also a very pretty town with many really good sites and a saturday market.
Manresa: 10 km. The biggest town in the region. Shopping centre, shooping Mall, a nice old town
